Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Design, build and optimize cloud infrastructure to ensure the highest level of reliability and resilience.

  • Develop strategies for application and data recovery in the event of any failure, ensuring business continuity.

  • Implement best practices for cloud security and compliance, ensuring that all cloud solutions follow company protocols and government regulations.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their needs and ensure the reliability and resilience of the cloud solution.

  • Work closely with the architecture and design team to develop technical reliability and resilience framework and guidelines for public cloud.

  • Work with cloud service providers to understand their service level agreements (SLAs) and ensure they meet our requirements for uptime and latency.

  • Monitor and manage cloud environments to identify and address any issues that could impact reliability and resilience.

  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in cloud computing and resilience strategies.

 

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 7 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 4 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 13+ years of relevant work experience.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years working experience as a Cloud Architect or similar role in public cloud computing.
  • Certifications in cloud computing such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud services and cloud infrastructure including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
  • Experience in designing and implementing resilient cloud-based solutions.
  • Experience in designing Public and Hybrid network architectures, VPC, and security group management.
  • Understanding of DevOps principles and tools for CI/CD
  • Proficient in scripting languages such as Python and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to a non-technical audience.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 147,400.00 to 213,800.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
