Job Description
Team Summary
The Credit Settlement Risk (CSR) team is part of the Risk function and acts as a 2nd Line of Defense. CSR is responsible for protecting Visa and its shareholders from financial loss and goodwill damage because of a member’s failure to fulfil its settlement obligations. In line with Visa’s growth strategy requiring a balanced and sustainable approach to risk and reward, credit as well as settlement risk is one of the significant risks that Visa Asia Pacific undertakes.
What a Director, Credit Risk Management does at Visa:
- Strategic Leadership and Stakeholder Management: Act as a key strategic leader, supporting the head of the function in setting and implementing the strategic vision for collateral management. This involves managing and nurturing key stakeholder relationships to align with the organization’s objectives.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the go-to expert in developing new collateral initiatives specifically designed for clients in the Asia Pacific region. This includes working closely with credit analysts to assess and mitigate credit risks effectively.
- Risk Management Enhancement: Utilize a proactive and forward-looking approach to enhance the organization's Credit and Settlement risk capabilities. This includes balancing business growth strategies with appropriate risk-reward outcomes and leveraging data and analytical capabilities to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and provide insightful risk management decisions.
- Collaboration and Compliance: Lead by example in building and maintaining strong partnerships with the Global Credit and Settlement function. Ensure strict adherence to Global Risk policies and procedures while actively participating in, and as needed, influencing global projects to support the organization’s objectives in the Asia Pacific region.
- Portfolio Management: Employ a portfolio management approach to understand and manage the Asia Pacific client base, leveraging a thorough understanding of the Credit Settlement Risk framework and systems.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
What you will need
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in leadership across technology products/ solutions, or similar years of experience in a leadership position within a financial institution, potentially as a key customer for Visa’s services on the client side.
- A highly motivated individual that takes ownership of the projects assigned and manage the collateral portfolio independently, including supporting the head of function on reports to EC and Global.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, including influencing and stakeholder management. Proven ability to build credible-long term effective working relationships, both internally and externally.
- Excellent written, oral and presentation skills.
- Ability to synthesize information and make concise recommendations.
- High accuracy and attention to detail.
- Led / Coordinate the CSR data analytics / systems and reporting objectives.
- Supports regulatory and Internal Audit requirements.
