Job Description and Responsibilities

As Director, NA Deal Strategy and Development team, you will create and deliver client-centric strategic proposals and presentations that showcase Visa's “One Visa” value proposition and align with our strategic pillars and growth levers. You will work closely with account executives and cross-functional leaders across a broad spectrum of the business to understand the client's needs and goals, Visa’s capabilities, and industry trends and dynamics, translating them into a compelling and winning story in client proposals and deal presentations.

You will play a key role in winning client partnerships across issuer, fintech, digital partnerships, etc. and driving North America's continued growth and success.

The position is based in Foster City, California, with the flexibility to co locate in our San Francisco office.

 

You Will (Essential Functions):  

  • Partner closely with the North America Sales organization, Product, Marketing, Visa Consulting & Analytics, Finance, Legal, and other Visa teams to strengthen partnerships through systematic, strategic, and impactful client engagements

  • Support higher-touch custom deal development and engagement. Provide deal leadership and support to win or renew critical deals

  • Craft, use, and tailor impactful, reusable deal and pitch materials for semi-custom (low-medium touch) engagements

  • Enable Product Sales by defining and driving product and services capability bundles into client-centric solution sales materials

  • Build, enhance, and refresh Grab & Go client-ready, legally approved pitch and/or product and services sales content housed on our Online Repository (Common Proposal Platform).

  • Drive adoption and awareness of the NA Common Proposal Platform and content

  • Help shape & deploy new deal strategies. Define process, ensure alignment across Visa, and help drive training and communication for Visa assets, solutions, services, embedded into deal

  • Identify and unlock deal process improvement through strategic analysis and reporting

  • Provide executive reporting and key insights into strategic North America deals

  • Develop and empower AEs with best practices and insights to deepen client engagement. Improve efficiency and deliver new capabilities to the deal management process

  • Special Projects: Support ad hoc strategic projects, based on business needs. Examples of these include:  creation of a client testimonial video, revamping the deal construction and storytelling processes, conducting AE focus groups to enhance resources, etc.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD


Preferred Qualifications

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • 5 to 7 years business experience in Payments or Banking or Consulting organizations
  • Track record of developing and communicating a strategy, building relationships across teams and key stakeholders to achieve business goals
  • Excellent verbal and written skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex technical and business issues and solutions to a variety of stakeholders
  • Must have a can do attitude and will do what it takes in order to move a program forward
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and synthesize data
  • Must have strong presentation skills and be comfortable presenting material in front of executive level audiences
  • Ability to build credibility, influence and negotiate at highest levels within core segment organizations
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency, and deliver under tight deadlines or time frames
  • Ability to work independently within a complex and often ambiguous environment

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 163,800 to 237,550 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
