Job Description

Visa’s Digital Partnerships organization is responsible for managing Visa’s overall innovation agenda and initiatives and the management of strategic partnerships with critical non-financial institutions.

These partners have enabled the capability of small businesses, merchants and developers to help conduct digital commerce seamlessly and offer payment capabilities on par with those of sophisticated merchants.

This role is responsible for defining and executing a strategy for Visa’s partnerships with big tech players and large enabler clients as well as developing more sophisticated deal modeling, forecasting, and revenue and pricing. The role requires an experienced sales and strategy professional who can proactively identify potential headwinds, tailwinds, and then develop methods, use cases, and a forward-thinking approach that Visa should take to further grow its position.  This role will be a member of the Strategy team reporting to the Global Head of Strategy, while matrixed to the Innovation & Digital Partnerships team, and working closely with Visa’s Platform and Application Services teams, as well as other stakeholders such as Processing, Cybersource, Risk, Finance, Marketing, etc. teams to deliver highly complex, strategic deals. 

To help us to maintain and grow our position with Big Tech and Enabler players and new platforms, the role encompasses a range of responsibilities including, 

Segment Expertise,

  • Lead the Innovation and Digital Partnerships team in developing a proactive strategy for Big Tech and Payment Enablers
  • Proactively identify strategic opportunities for Visa capabilities through a strong understanding of the segment and customer's business needs, leveraging Visa solutions across all product platforms
  • Continuously review market landscape, identifying developing trends and forecasting opportunities that will help Visa further grow as a market leader
  • Creating and developing scenarios to help predict the future of payments

Execution,

  • Take the lead in solving the problems that arise during the execution of programs with partners
  • Proactively identify and solve complex problems that impact the management, relationship and direction of the business

Communication,

  • Report to and interact with senior executives to indicate the status of the partnership progress
  • Foster in-depth and productive relationships at all levels with the client and the Visa organization
  • Proactively educate the Visa organization on market developments and partner opportunities

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications,

•12 or more years of work experience with a bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 8 years of work experience with a PhD
 

Preferred Qualifications,

•15 or more years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, PhD)

•Management consulting or corporate strategy experience preferred

•Financial services or payments industry experience preferred

•Demonstrated track record of planning, managing and closing a complex, competitive sales effort and managing deals from negotiation, to closing and through delivery

•Demonstrated success in business development, solution development and commercialization, account management and sales support for a global organization.

•Experience building sound business cases, designing payments solutions relevant to the market, and delivering results within budget.

•Fluency in new tech (e.g., BaaS, CBDC, Crypto)

•Fluency in eliciting client needs to help derive customer flows and journeys, in other words, be a solution integrator to move from strategic insights to process to technology solutions (e.g., B2B connect)

•Strategic thinking and thought leadership

•Teamwork, interpersonal & relationship-building skills, and ability to lead by influence and example

•Proven ability to partner, communicate and manage/navigate through multiple disciplines and organizational groups

•Experience building Executive Level communications and delivering presentations

•Ability to work within a complex and often ambiguous environment, and to influence senior management and other relevant parties

•Executive presence, Strong written and oral communication, including large-group presentations

•Global experience (ex. Asia) preferred

•Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic and flexible

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 229,100.00 to 315,000.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
