Job Description

Visa Direct is Visa’s push or buyer initiated payment solution to support instant P2P payments and disbursements. Visa believes the global opportunity for instant push payments is 55 USD trillion in annual payments volume – with an excess of 85% of this fulfilled through checks, cash or other slow forms of payment. While some of this volume represents traditional P2M payments, a significant proportion represents new use-cases (P2P, sharing economy payouts, merchant disbursements, QR based merchant acceptance) whereby funds are sent to consumers and small businesses. Financial institutions, payments providers and technology companies are leveraging Visa Direct to transform the way money is moved by consumers and businesses.

 

Responsibilities

The Senior Manager, will be a key team member of the Visa Direct LAC team, which is focused on introducing Visa Direct solutions across all end points (card, account and wallet), in key LAC markets, accelerating the development and deployment of Visa Direct programs. This role will also be responsible for helping clients design their solution and working with Visa’s Client Services organization in implementing their programs, following the Visa Onboarding Scale methodology

 

The scope will include managing Visa Direct projects, working with stakeholders to ensure infrastructure development for the solution, establish processes and controls to support and scale. The candidate must possess a unique combination of card payments processing and product expertise, solution design knowledge, problem-solving skills, be comfortable with rapid changes, work well under pressure, have intellectual curiosity, and attention to detail.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • End to end deployment of key enablers (acquirers, FinTech, merchants) to support their readiness for Visa Direct.
  • Identify technical developments required to enable the solution in market
  • Engage with multiple stakeholders in LAC to implement the deployment plans per country – monitor tasks and track progress against target due dates
  • Provide solutioning, technical and SME support to the Visa Direct Specialized Sales team to move opportunities from prospecting to closed won and launched.
  • Identify risks and dependencies for solution deployment, and work with internal teams to remove roadblocks
  • Establish a consistent project management practice for implementation and support the roll out of these best practices within local teams
  • Engage with clients and work with them to provide support in solution design, ensuring a solid and realistic implementation plan
  • Establish implementation plans between clients and internal stakeholders – monitoring and tracking activities accordingly
  • Provide regional tracking and status updates on regional deployments to senior management
  • Support teams in delivering high quality training to all internal stakeholders and elevate the knowledge of Scan to Pay in the region
  • Have a strong pulse and feedback loop on regional and functional partner needs

This role requires travel.

 

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD


Preferred Qualifications

  • 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD
  • Passion for future of payments and self-motivated to be change agent in the ecosystem
  • At least 8 years of experience in managing program performance, ideally with some combination of product and operations experience. Advanced degree preferred
  • Desired expertise on deployment of payment programs use cases
  • Experience working across global markets in the payments or financial sector
  • Strong project management and organization skills to keep large cross-functional teams delivering towards a common goal
  • Demonstrated analytical approach to problem solving
  • Strong team player, self-motivated and the ability to work independently at coordinating cross functional activities, obtaining buy-in and elevating issues at critical junctures
  • Fluency in English and Spanish are required. Portuguese is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) and ability to communicate complex ideas effectively

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 125,500 to 163,200 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
