Visa Technology & Operations LLC, a Visa Inc. company, needs a Data Engineer - Sr. Consultant (multiple openings) in Foster City, CA to Technically lead a team/scrum for API delivery, involving working with various stakeholders and guiding the team on timely delivery. Work with product owners to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios. Work cross-functionally with the Agile team to design, develop, test, implement and support application technical solutions across a full-stack of development tools and technologies. Actively participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including analysis, technical design, planning, development, testing/CICD, release, and post production/escalation support. Work on highly scalable, available and resilient multi-tenant platforms that can host large scale and highly critical applications. Develop large scale multi-tenant software components on the platform in an Agile based methodology to provide self-service capabilities. Develop and implement monitoring tools to measure, monitor, and report data availability, utilization, capacity trends, and metrics. Perform tuning and increase operational efficiency on a continuous basis. Build partnerships with other technology teams to drive efficiency in their use of platforms and services that are provided. Apply the appropriate software engineering patterns to build robust and scalable systems. Mentor junior members in the scrum team. Stay current with new and evolving technologies. Position reports to the Foster City, California office and may allow for partial telecommuting.

Employer will accept a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Information Technology, Systems Management, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, and 1 year of experience in the job offered or in a data engineer or data analyst-related occupation. Alternatively, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Information Technology, Systems Management, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, followed by 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a data engineer or data analyst-related occupation.

SALARY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $191,857.00 USD to $258,500.00 USD per year. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for an annual bonus and equity.
