Job Description
Visa Consulting and Analytics, VCA, is the external client-facing consulting group of Visa. We draw on our expertise in strategy consulting, data analytics, and solution delivery, steeped in pragmatic industry experience to develop fact-based recommendations to improve client performance, and help with the delivery of the recommendations. Our clients span the continuum of companies that participate in the payment card industry, to include financial institutions, merchants, FinTechs, acquirers, and payment processors. VCA Managed Services is a suite of service offerings that together help clients execute on strategic roadmaps and drive go-to-market implementations.
As the Manager, VCA Managed Services - Technology, you will be part of the team responsible for growing a critical managed services pillar focused on Technology Strategy and Implementation. Technology Strategy services enable clients to assess their current technical architecture, envision their future state, and create the roadmap to long-term success. Technology Implementation services build on the success of Technology Strategy engagements, equipping clients with the tech development teams and engaging with them to realize the roadmap needed to bring their vision to life.
In the Manager role you will play a significant role in developing high impact projects and proposal for Visa’s clients in the North America region. The potential candidate will be responsible for delivering project proposals and pricing, collaborating with the various teams within Visa and across trusted delivery partners. Candidate would also have responsibilities for implementing sold projects, overseeing the delivery of the project scope to the end clients. This person will also support the leadership team and contribute to the development of initiatives to promote sustainable and profitable growth for the practice. Ideal candidates will have IT and management consulting, technology implementation and payments experience. Candidate is sufficiently conversant in technical architecture, ideally within the context of banking and payments, to scope development efforts effectively with dev resources.
Potential engagements could include providing implementation program planning and execution, project team staffing, including skilled technology practitioners, skilled staff augmentation and team oversight. Technology delivery related activities will all be considered possible offerings to a client’s needs.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Proactively engage with teams in regular account planning discussions, contribute towards managing the pipeline of work.
- Lead proposal initiatives and contributes towards client pitches by identifying potential opportunities and solutions to client problems, initiatives.
- Develop frameworks, resourcing plans, timelines and recommendations that effectively and efficiently address the opportunity scope and challenges.
- Develop bespoke and scalable solutions leveraging Visa assets and as needed, third-party partner assets.
- Assist in developing product pricing strategy as well as in identifying third-party partners who can complement and supplement solution sets.
- Project management responsibilities along with being able to translate between business and technology professionals.
- Partner with peers in other pillars of VMS and functional areas within Visa to execute projects in ways that leverage the breadth and depth of Visa’s resources.
- Build solution collateral, toolkits, best practice documents and consulting approach that can be applied across the clients and engagements - current and future.
Incumbents applying for the role should be self-motivated, highly energized, detail-oriented individuals who will contribute to thought leadership, requirements diagnostics and solutioning from technology lens. Candidates must be able to develop enduring, strategic relationships with internal teams and external clients and across the Visa organization.
For clarity, this role will not be involved in the hands-on-keyboard technical development work needed for the engagement. Rather, the manager will engage as more of a sales team member who will ensure that delivery teams are scoped appropriately and are delivering against client goals and objectives, monitoring for necessary course corrections.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week, determined by leadership or site, with a general guidepost of being in the office 50 percent or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
- Relevant experience at large management or IT consulting firm delivering enterprise tech. solutions.
- Experience working in a techno-functional capacity mediating between business functions and technology teams.
- Client engagement lifecycle management experience.
- Self-motivated, results oriented individual with the ability to handle multiple initiatives concurrently.
- Knowledge and understanding of banking operations or payment schemes, including products & services, business systems and processes.
- Excellent communication, story telling and presentation skills

Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 132,300.00 to 172,000.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
