Job Description
The Authentication and Identity Products Product Management Director will be a member of Visa's global Authentication & Identity team. The authentication and identity team looks after Visa’s authentication and identity products and strategy globally. The role will be responsible for helping to deliver on the overall product strategy and roadmap for our solutions, including Visa Secure, Digital Authentication Framework (DAF), and related Identity efforts such as B2CIAM and FIDO. The team is also responsible for technology product ownership, engagement with the application delivery teams, backlog prioritization, authentication and identity standards and specifications as well as technical operations oversight.
The Director will also assist with definition and delivery of the strategies defined with the regions to drive the launch and scale of Visa’s Authentication and Identity Products around the world. In addition, the Director will utilize their industry, market, and product expertise to proactively inform the Development Team and Visa organization on our product roadmap.
Essential Functions
Be a leader, an integral part of a team of high performing technical product managers.
Understand evolving needs and challenges of the ecosystem: by engagement with solution providers and regional stakeholders and in some cases with clients.
Balance technical and business acumen, and develop approaches that are innovative, comprehensive, business-focused, and meet global and regional market needs and drivers.
Execute and deliver on the authentication and identity product strategy and roadmap.
Direct delivery responsibility for apropos product enhancements/features (collaboration with the Authentication and Identity Engineering teams to communicated technical requirements, design, and track progress).
Interface with other Visa teams to deliver integrated cross-product solutions.
Represent Visa in apropos authentication and identity industry and standard groups and events, such as EMVCo, W3C, FIDO, PCI, OIX…
Develop “subject matter expertise” on the EMV® 3-D Secure specifications being able to interpret the spec and apply the knowledge.
Provide feedback for proposed enhancements to the EMV 3DS protocol specification.
Help manage pilot programs or MVP builds for new products.
Partner with development, commercialization, operations, and data teams to deliver whole solution experience, product, and business outcomes.
Provide out of the box, strategic thought leadership on our payment authentication strategy and execution.
In exceptional cases, provide technical support and consultation to issuers, acquirers, processors, merchants, and 3-D Secure solution providers.
This position may require occasional travel to client sites, industry events, and Visa locations.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
• 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications
• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
• 12+ of experience, preferably within a technology or financial services company
• Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated quantitative & qualitative reasoning skills through prior projects
• Understanding of how high availability/high redundancy systems and online services work
• Prior experience as a business analyst/system analyst is a huge plus
• Proven experience and success working in an agile environment and with cross-functional teams
• Strong knowledge of EMV 3DS, 3DS 1.0.2, or similar Identity / federation standards
• Must have the ability and willingness to learn
• Strong analytical skills and detail oriented, demonstrating understanding of data and product performance
• Understanding of payment processing and payment landscape a plus
• Experience with managing a team in a multifaceted, fast-paced, and complex operation
• Proven record of implementing strategic initiatives, policies, and operational decisions
• Ability to work within a complex and sometimes ambiguous environment, and to influence senior management and other relevant parties
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 131,000.00 to 170,400.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
