Job Description
The Acceptance Solutions Product Development team are the engineers responsible for a portfolio of products that drive diversification of Visa revenue, differentiate our network, and deliver value-added solutions across other rails. This is part of a strategy to increase total merchant value by developing solutions that address complex and emerging needs of both merchants and acquirers. Our mission is to drive the future of payment acceptance, helping our clients navigate digital commerce complexities and address an increasing need for flexibility and agility.
The goal of the Visa Acceptance Platform is to be the world’s most open payment platform by delivering market leading, globally relevant, omnichannel acceptance componentry through open, composable, modular APIs delivered with Visa-grade resilience, security, maintenance, and scale.
Visa is seeking a transformative leader for the role of Acceptance Solutions Vice President, Cloud Enablement & Shared Platform Services. A key part of the role will be to transform and converge Acceptance Solutions to Visa platforms, promote developer productivity and integrate the use of GenAI in our processes and solutions. This role will also be responsible for leading the strategy and execution of our cloud migration and management. This includes overseeing the design and implementation of cloud architectures, managing cloud governance, and ensuring optimal performance and security of our cloud environments.
This role will report to the Senior Vice President, Product Development, Technology Acceptance Solutions and will be responsible for working with the executive team as well as the commercial & product development partners to aggressively expand Visa’s product portfolio. This is a senior and transformational role that requires autonomy and next generation thinking.
The three critical areas of this role are:
Cloud Enablement:
- Enable cloud technologies, including configuration of environments, container deployment, and implementation of development tools.
- Drive cloud migration initiatives, manage a team of cloud professionals, and collaborate with other leaders in the organization
Shared Platform Services:
- Lead the strategy and execution of Acceptance Solutions Shared Platform Services, including caching, messaging, workflow, logging, monitoring, database engineering, and UI frameworks.
- Drive the next generation of these services, fostering collaboration across teams and promoting the use of shared resources and tools.
Authentication:
- Manage API Gateway and Authentication capabilities, ensuring secure and efficient access to our services.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 8 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
• 15 or more years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, PhD)
• Experience building enterprise transaction-based systems with focus on security, reliability, scalability, performance, and modern CI/CD techniques.
• Experience in coding, architecting and leading large teams (150+) of technologists across multiple time zones and cultures.
• Proven experience with large scale distributed & cloud-based technologies to include Kubernetes, Hazelcast, Kafka, MySQL, Mongo, Cassandra, Containers, Chef, Splunk, Elastic, and Hadoop.
• Previous experience in design, architecture, and engineering experience of highly available, resilient, scalable systems, including cloud architectures.
• Experience working in Agile framework and comfortable working in a matrixed organization.
• Excellent knowledge of core engineering best practices and passion to implement these across the team.
• Demonstrated experience in change management concerning the adoption of modern & innovative technologies
• Strong knowledge of cloud service providers, cloud technology trends, cloud development tools, cloud migration and management and container technologies.
• Demonstrated success in recruiting, growing, retaining, and leading high-caliber technical talent, with a commitment to cultivating and developing internal talent.
• Superior relationship building skills with senior management and partners, and important stakeholders.
• Strong commercial acumen to forecast business trends and translate into agile technology acceptance solutions.
• An ability to combine analytical reasoning, creativity, and judgment in handling complex matters, with multiple initiatives going on simultaneously.
• Experience in crafting a collaborative and innovative work culture that encourages risk-taking and fosters excellence.
• Deep Payments industry knowledge highly desired
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 206,200.00 to 283,500.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
