Job Description

The Sr. Sourcing Manager's  main responsibility is to help people in the Global Sourcing organization make better decisions with data. This role is responsible for gathering, extracting, manipulating, analyzing and modelling data using analytical and statistical tools. The Manager will then be responsible to create compelling and accurate dashboards, visuals, charts and other designs that convey Visa’s insights, data analysis and thought leadership across a variety of formats. The Data and Analytics team delivers and manages the tools and technologies to make those decisions.

Essential Functions:
•    Acquire, transform, manipulate, and analyze data from multiple sources, ensure data quality while minimizing errors, and organize data into easy to understand, and visually appealing reports.
•    Independently partner with cross-functional business and technical teams to deliver reports that include data insights, interesting trends and opportunities, and answer key business questions.
•    Communicate complex analysis and associated insights to broad audiences including executives.
•    Provide guidance on how to leverage data and reports to refine data accuracy (recommendations to update existing data), and improve data entry processes to ensure improved future accuracy.
•    Contribute in all meetings and discussions related to leveraging data & provide insights that influence business decision making through data-based recommendations.
•    Demonstrate expertise in quantitative analysis and business acumen to understand and analyze data- provide guidance on how to interpret data gaps and trends.
•    Incorporate internal and external data into industry and competitive benchmarking information.
•    Deliver standardized, scheduled reporting in support of organizational key performance indicators and objectives.  Proactively suggest reporting improvements such as combining two reports, sunsetting old reports, and creating new reports as business needs change.
•    When required, partner with Category lead and analysts to prepare ad-hoc reporting and analysis in the support of specific initiatives. Determine whether ad-hoc reporting should be automated and partner with Ariba team to ensure correct views are established to minimize manually work.
•    Manages and monitors the implementation of smaller projects and processes with minimal supervision.
•    Develop protocols and governance to ensure data accuracy.  Proactively develop and offer training to the organization on complex data inquiries to ensure consistency and awareness.  
•    Manage complex cross functional projects in support of Global Sourcing objectives and goals.
•    Establish this role as the subject matter expert (SME) for all data related questions and requests.  Support Categories by attending group meetings or partnering with data analysts to ensure capability and independent abilities to run reports and police data entry to enable accuracy.
•    Influences others within job sub-function regarding practices, procedures and policies
•    Leads global peer and stakeholder teams to enable and drive global solutions
•    Partners with internal and external clients to identify and drive information and process improvement needs.

 

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications
• 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD
• 5+ Years in Business Analysis that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position.
• Working experience with industry standard data management tool, e.g. Power BI, Think Cell, Ariba etc.
• Expert proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and/or other design programs/tools.
• Proven track-record to informing business stakeholders on data trends and insights to drive decision-making.
Technical
• Ability to perform advanced business analytics, including advanced Excel skills
• Superb design skills, coupled with demonstrated experience interpreting and displaying business concepts through powerful visuals.
• Is a problem solver with a knack for uncovering elegant solutions.
• Asks questions to get at the deeper-level -why- by prioritizing relevance and meaning over the artifact or visualization itself. Taking time to understand the question being asked and the why behind it to ensure the correct question is answered.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 133,000.00 to 173,000.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
