Job Description
The Risk and Identity Solutions (RaIS) is a key component of the Value Added Services (VAS) PD within Visa. VAS-RaIS has a suite of high visibility, high-volume, revenue earning applications that provide solutions related to Risk Management, Identity and Authentication. Our capabilities are used extensively by key players in the payment eco-space across the globe.
The PMO Lead in the VAS-RaIS PMO leads a team of Program managers & Scrums masters for critical and highly visible applications that deliver consistent value to our customers. PMO leaders at Visa are highly competent and effective leaders, building bridges & tunnels across Visa to ensure that our initiatives are effectively conceived, elaborated, prioritized, designed, developed, tested, integrated and deployed with quality and on time delivery into our production systems and released to our end users.
This position has been created to lead the PMO office in Warsaw and other EU locations.
The ideal candidate will have a solid experience with technology/product program management, people management, release management, Lean-Agile methodologies, cross-functional team leadership, as well as superb skills in communications, business analysis, problem-solving, cross-team coordination, governance, and change management. The ideal candidate is not just a facilitator or project plan tracker but ensures that things get done. The person should display a drive to get things done, possess a “can-do” attitude, a growth-oriented mindset, a process-focus and an ability to deal with ambiguity. Candidates need to be technology literate and be willing to learn new technologies, optimize processes, implement efficiencies and to multi-task.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for managing a team of Program managers, Projects Managers and Scrum masters for large scale, cross divisional initiatives with budgets 10M+ USD .
Collaborate on a portfolio of programs each with 100+ geographically-distributed team members and budgets exceeding 15M USD.
Manage team’s growth, learnings, and overall development while aligning with the organization’s and PMO’s goals.
Partner with the Product & Technology leads to ensure effective Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR). Help and facilitate prioritization of Initiatives that align to the Objectives & Business Results (OKRs) and available workforce capacity.
Work with business and technology leaders and subject matter experts to define scope, create estimates, develop budgets, and produce documentation needed for funding approvals.
Lead the Quarterly Execution Planning (QEP) activities across all the teams for the program, collaborating with partners in Operations & Infrastructure, Cybersecurity and other Visa Technology verticals.
Ensure that the program and projects are in compliance with Visa's Agile Management Methodology (AM2) and Key Controls and that accurate and timely information is reported regularly on program progress and financial status.
Act as a coach and mentor to the PMO team and the scrum teams on adopting agile best practices. Be the leader in advancing the ongoing transformation to Scaled Agile.
Provide quality, flow, and value metrics-based reporting to all stakeholders.
Conduct regular program-level ceremonies (Scrum of Scrums, Agile Release Train Sync, System Demos).
Proactively identify and mitigate Risks, Assumptions, Issues & Dependencies leveraging Jira Align.
Manage program financials with respect to budget, forecast & actuals for labor capital/expenses and Infrastructure costs.
Drive adoption of best QA practices leveraging automation of test cases, test plans, and test scenarios while ensuring segregation of duties.
Assist and support with External (FFIEC) & Internal audits on the program. Ensure that all programs supported by the PMO adhere to audit compliant processes at all times.
Ensure that identified security vulnerabilities are addressed and remediated in a timely manner to prevent non-compliance. Ensure that exceptions are obtained in a timely manner and kept to a minimum.
Volunteer for additional responsibilities related to Visa processes, cross-functional project governance and hiring of team members and participate in required fire drills.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
• 10+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 13+ years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
• 7 years of experience, as a Technical Project/Program Manager working with technical teams developing Enterprise class software applications.
• 5+ years of experience, in leading scrum teams or team of teams in an Agile Release Train structure across multiple geographies.
• Agile Lifecycle Management tool (Jira, Jira Align, Rally) and PPM (Clarity, Primavera, HP PPM etc.).
• Scaled Agile Certification (SAFe for Teams, Leading SAFe, Implementing SAFe, SAFe for Release Train Engineers).
• Project Management Certification (PMP) from PMI preferred.
• Excellent analytical skills and enthusiastic problem solver.
• Strong leadership qualities and organizational skills as well as the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, assignments, and roles.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Agile principles (Lean, LESS, DAD, SAFe etc.) , Project Management and SDLC principles, practices and frameworks.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. A demonstrated ability to effectively document and communicate technical and business issues and solutions to appropriate organizational levels.
• Ability to work with minimal guidance. Ability to prioritize work, multi-task and manage one’s time. Ability to handle ambiguity and to pivot when needed.
• Ability to thoroughly understand complex business and technical issues and influence decision.
• Be able to work independently and exercise judgment with minimal direction from supervisor.
• Ability to train, mentor, guide and manage team members with different levels of seniority and skillset and to be accountable for their deliverables.
• Think strategically and have a big-picture holistic view of the landscape. But not hesitant to get into details and provide tactical solutions when situation so demands.
