Job Description

This Intern role will be part of the South Africa Merchant Sales & Acquiring team, which is responsible for owning end-to-end sales and strategy for Visa’s seller-side ecosystem. This team is responsible for driving acceptance and managing strategic client relationships with merchants, their banks and other enablement partners.

This selected candidate will work closely with key stakeholders, both internal and external to the group, and will be responsible for supporting key initiatives and projects.

Key Functions and Day-to-Day Tasks May Include:

  • Building strong relationships with account executive (AE) leaders
  • Understanding client needs and merchant trends, anticipating opportunities and challenges, collecting and synthesizing AE feedback and provide recommendations
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Supporting SA's MS&A’s vertical strategies, business development, or key initiatives; helping manage the day to day project and team activities to meet project goals and timelines.
  • Supporting SA MS&A’s annual planning activities like end of year reporting, budgeting, and goal setting.
  • Directly supporting business development activities for a set of clients in partnership with Account Executives.

Qualifications

  • Students pursuing a Bachelor’s or Masters Degree with a graduation date in summer 2025 or 2026
  • Be available to pursue a winter internship (June 4 to August 29th)
  • Excellent communication, story-telling and presentation skills 
  • Strong PowerPoint and excel skills are desired
  • Superior analytical and financial analysis skills
  • Strong collaboration skills with a diverse peer group required
  • Able to articulate viewpoint effectively to key stakeholders in order to get buy in and agreement
  • Self-confident and hands-on, with the ability to operate in a fast paced and constantly changing work environment
