Job Description
Product Reliability Engineering (PRE) ensures Visa’s Products and Services are engineered and operating at a level that exceeds all the availability and reliability targets. PRE is accountable for the reliability of all Visa’s Products including the underlying Applications, Technologies, and Processes. As the world’s leader in digital payments, we hold ourselves to the highest standards for Reliability and Availability. Essential Functions
Middleware Reliability Engineering (MWRE) responsibilities as part of Product Reliability Engineering (PRE) Organization of VISA. You will be responsible for managing Middleware infrastructure, life cycle management of MW standard products, build solution around MW products while considering reliability, availability, latency, performance, monitoring & efficiency as core principles. Involve in change management, emergency response, and capacity planning under PRE. In this role, split your time between overseeing MWRE workload and engagement in various strategic initiative under PRE.
As a Leader of Middleware Reliability Engineering group, this role requires to oversee team work to keep the applications and Middleware infrastructure running to cater to the round the clock needs of the business.
This role require contribution towards various initiatives within PRE including building new solutions and make a meaningful impact keeping Reliability, Availability & security as top priority.
Plan for future team growth with carefully considering Visa Leadership Principles and value addition to the business.
Build an inclusive team culture that is innovative and collaborative.
Inspire and lead your team to deliver strategic objectives of PRE and help optimize Visa’s approach to growth.
Lead strong partnerships with key stakeholders across Technology.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
• 12+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 9 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 15+ years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
• 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
• Strong leadership & people management skills to manage great talented Middleware team and make valuable contribution to towards the growth for Visa business.
• Ability to set the clear vision and strategy for the team to meet organizational goal.
• 15+ Years of working experience in various middleware products including Web. Server (Ex: Apache, NGINX, Envoy, IIS, etc.), Application Servers (Ex: Tomcat, IBM WebSphere, Oracle WebLogic, JBoss EAP, etc.), Messaging solutions (IBM MQ, Message Broker, or Kafka, A-MQ, etc.), Caching (Hazelcast or Ignite or Aerospike or Infispan or Gridgain).
• Passion for technology and keen to continue to learn and develop personal and team skillset.
• Experience in Big data products like Hadoop eco system.
• Working knowledge of Unix / Linux & Windows operating systems.
• Experience in various open-source Middleware technologies.
• Experience in various scripting languages including Shell script, Python, etc.
• DevOps experience to automate various activities to improve productivity.
• Deep understanding of application and infrastructure design including various integration points.
• Ability to lead any initiative and partner with stake holders to deliver the solution on time.
• Excellent Analytic and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to solve complex production problems to minimize business impact.
• Proactive in making improvements and keen to innovate.
• Experience in working with global team and proven track record to deliver quality products with cross functional teams to improve collaboration and build strong partnership.
• Experience in defining scope, resolving conflict, and prioritizing works to get the optimum productivity from teams.
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 181,800.00 to 250,000.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
