Job Description

Visa Direct is a real time global money movement network that enables Fintechs, Banks, Merchants, and  Service Providers to deploy innovative money movement solutions and experiences around the world to over 7B Cards, Accounts and Wallets in over 190 Countries and 160 Currencies. Visa Direct consumer and business applications include person-to-person (P2P) transfers and remittances, person to micro-business transfer (e.g. payouts to Gig Economy workers, Content Creators, Marketplace sellers), funds disbursements (e.g. Insurance claims, SMB Supplier payments and Government payouts), and more.  The global market opportunity is estimated to be more than 90 Trillion dollars of payment volume, replacing cash, checks, and slow bank transfers with real-time payments directly into bank accounts and digital wallets.

 

The Visa Direct Global Commercialization & GTM team plays a critical role in growing the Visa Direct business.  The team is comprised of global payments experts responsible for the strategy and commercialization of Visa Direct across existing and new use cases and verticals. In this strategy, this team is responsible for 1. owning the Visa Direct GTM strategy for selected use cases and markets, 2. leading value proposition development, including  packaging of capabilities, positioning/messaging, pricing, rules, policies, and benefits articulation, making sure that target segments or customer audiences are engaged. 3. activation of this strategy in coordination with cross-functional stakeholders like Sales, Client Services, Marketing, Communications and Regional teams, ensuring teams are aligned to the GTM plans and are working smoothly together to achieve desired goals. 4, driving strategic programming and execution of the GTM plan, launching pilot programs or tests, analyzing the performance, sharing case studies and best practices and adjusting it as needed.

 

The successful applicant will be a key team member of the Visa Direct Global Commercialization team, which is tasked with building and implementing the Visa Direct strategy to scale the business across all regions and markets of focus.

 

While being in a very complex and critical position at Visa, you will excel at handling ambiguity and uncertainty. You know what it is like to start something from scratch, growing it structurally and methodically, and implementing impactful strategic plans. We are looking for people who have been directly involved in scaling a business or product through strategic implementation and also exhibit a vigorous curiosity to maintain the Visa network as the best way to pay and be paid.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

- Own global use case value proposition positioning, including strategy and growth optimization for emerging, high ROI use cases

- Create go-to-market (GTM) plans to scale specific Visa Direct use cases partnering with Regional teams to analyze markets, identify clients, evaluate distribution channels and partners

- Lead use case strategy, insights and analysis, informing the key stakeholders of insights across markets related to the commercial opportunities for Visa Direct, including market prioritization-fit, use case optimization, determining ROI on specific market opportunities

- Coordinate work across Visa’s internal teams such as Product, Marketing, Design, pricing, rules, Sales, Operations, CSS, and Legal to manage market strategy workstreams

- Work with sales and regional teams to grow existing client programs using a consultative approach using various tools like co-marketing, streamlined UX and user journey mapping, optimize approval rates, etc.

- Convey to leadership strategies to overcome market barriers as they relate to regulation, competition, product capabilities, pricing, ecosystem opportunities and social trends

- Partner with Sales Enablement, product Marketing and Communications teams to develop sales materials, training, tools and marketing to sell and scale Visa Direct use cases.

 

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience
with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a
PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an
Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD in
management consulting, corporate strategy, financial services or global product strategy
• MBA, relevant graduate degree or similar academic / professional experience
• Academic and/or professional background in international business
• Experience in and a passion for payments and fintech
• Strong acumen in multinational corporate strategy, specifically in financial services, payments and
fintech
• Ability to independently lead and manage projects with multiple work streams, with proven
leadership success over a wide variety of functional business problems
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration capabilities
• Ability to structure and manage complex cross-enterprise projects and processes with multiple
stakeholders
• Strong global business acumen and ease of communicating cross-culturally
• Passionate about working with colleagues across the globe to develop go-to-market and growth
strategies for a rapidly growing business unit
• Superior analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
• Ability to clearly communicate compelling messages to management and external business
partners globally
• Self-starter, team oriented, collaborative, and driven
• Top communication skills, including oral, writing and presentation capabilities

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 163,800.00 to 213,000.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
