Job Description

The Sr Director, Global ATM Network will be a key leader on the Visa / PLUS Global ATM Product team and key contributor to the Global Core Product team, the Global Cross Border business unit and the Regional Products organization.  This individual will have the overall responsibility for ensuring growth of the ATM business outside of North America (both domestic and Cross Border) and developing and executing against key strategies that include:

  • Creating market strategies and / or partnership constructs with both Issuers and Acquirers to win placement and routing and make Visa the network of choice for ATM transactions. Collaborating with key ATM providers and cross functional groups to message and make the ATM the preferred consumer channel when obtaining foreign cash (rather than branches or money changers) or depositing cash. Develop and build key product differentiation over the Visa network that illustrates how Visa can provide key value to clients in the realm of ATM usage outside of North America  

  • This individual needs to be a strong leader who is proficient in building and executing against growth strategies and can ensure successful delivery across different regions around the world. 

This Sr Director position will be responsible for the following main areas of focus:

  • Revenue Generation / Business Development Initiatives: 

    • Provide thought leadership and strategy development that includes creating market and partner specific deals that focus on growing ATM transactions which may include winning key Issuer portfolios and / or expanding usage within key product portfolios. 

    • Seek out global acquiring partners to shift teller transactions to ATM, sell FX at ATM pre-trip and enable Issuers to understand benefits of shifting cash to card and ensuring cardholders take less foreign cash pre-trip.

    • Work with marketing to continue Issuer toolkits and cardholder awareness campaigns to shift consumer behavior pre and during trip and have easily identifiable ATMs upon arrival.

    • Provide oversight of ATM Locator program and develop broader commercialization efforts to grow revenue outside of the US market.

  • Development and Operational support of new / existing ATM Products, Solutions and Capabilities: 

    • Lead new Infrastructure related initiatives (i.e., XB cash in, XB surcharge free, Managed Services, EMV, Contactless acceptance, Tokenization, PIN change, etc.)  and ensure network optimization by addressing maintenance and processing issues. 

    • Ensure the health and well-being of our global ATM Network from an Infrastructure perspective by working with IT and Client Support Services to facilitate, understand and resolve global client issues related to our ATM business (i.e., transaction quality, systematic billing errors, etc.).

    • Work with Global / Regional ATM product offices and client account teams to offer sales and client support on all ATM operational issues such as participation and implementation support for new services and capabilities (i.e., Plus Alliance, Deposits, PIN Change, etc.).

    • Ownership of GAPP and recommending a new structure and plan that ensure a broader compliance effort focused on recovering Cross Border transactions and accelerating adoption of our Global ATM services globally.

    • Provide thought leadership, strategy development and creation of business case for new ATM opportunities at it relates to our ATM Locator, licensing, exception processing, billing, CPS, Global ATM Rules, PLUS Rules, bylaws and ATM guides.

The aforementioned areas of focus will require this individual to work closely with global teams representing Technology, CSS, Product, Pricing, Interchange, Strategy, Operations, Sales and Legal groups.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD


Preferred Qualifications

  • 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
  • 10-15+ years payments experience preferred, ATM industry experience beneficial, including several years of leadership experience in successful businesses that have strong track record of revenue generation, product management, strategic development and execution
  • Undergraduate Degree required, graduate degree/MBA preferred.
  • Strategic thinker, excellent management skills, superior analytical skills with the ability to assess an opportunity's potential, leveraging fact-based analysis and industry experience.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen
  • Ability to handle complex projects with multiple work streams and proven leadership over a wide variety of stakeholders at junior through executive levels.
  • Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, results driven, and flexible.
  • Strong people leadership, management, interpersonal, and communication skills required.
  • Global or multi-national business experience preferred

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 183,100.00 to 238,000.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
