Job Description
The Senior Consultant of Solution Design is responsible for ensuring that Visa is developing new solutions our clients in North America (NA) want and can easily deploy. In this role, you will partner closely with product managers across Visa, taking a cross-product view towards product development. This role will work across key strategic product lines within Visa such as digital, risk and identity, BNPL, and more.
We are looking for a technically savvy individual who can bring client needs fully into the product development process. You are a seasoned leader with a strong technical background, client focus, and most importantly an interest in continuous learning. This role reports to the Senior Director, Solution Design within Visa’s NA Product and Solutions organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in new product launches by defining and prioritizing NA-specific product requirements
Evaluate the technical design and value proposition of in-development products against client needs and market dynamics
Partner closely with client-facing product specialists to understand client and market needs
Identify opportunities for innovation with both clients and internal teams
Work with technology to design and build-out region-specific solutions and proof-of-concepts
Work with interdisciplinary teams across product development, technology, innovation and design, engineering and payment ecosystem partners in the development of applied innovations
Manage project work independently and mentor more junior members of the team
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
• 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
• 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
• Ability to articulate product value proposition to executive-level business stakeholders and also explain technical details to developer-level contacts
• Experience working with BRDs, Solution Design Documents, and Process Flow Diagrams
• Payments industry/fintechs/digital tech experience or similar relevant experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Product management and or development experience
• Experience with one or more of the following payments areas: digital (e.g. e-commerce, tokenization), risk and identity, debit, and/or processing.
• Experience working with APIs in various technology environments
• Proven ability to work on complex and often ambiguous problems
• Excellent facilitator and moderator
• Self-starter with a disposition to work independently with a commitment to detail in an organized manner.
• Comfortable working independently in fast-paced environment
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 142,300.00 to 185,000.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
