Job Description

The Risk and Identity Solutions (RaIS) is a key component of the Value-Added Services (VAS) PD within Visa. VAS-RaIS has a suite of high visibility, high-volume, revenue earning applications that provide solutions related to Risk Management, Identity and Authentication. We deliver security solutions and drives a state-of-the-art payment experience. This group transforms data into insights for near real-time decisions and facilitates account holder authentication to help clients prevent fraud and protect account holder data. As Senior Technical Product Manager, you will collaborate with the business product teams to translate business requirements to how we build solutions working the Architecture and Engineering teams.  You will participate in solution architecture design and API specifications to ensure that the solution is extensible and can scale to support multiple regions.  Successful candidate will be skilled at forging strong partnerships with business sponsors, architects, and developers to define feature sets, story maps, detailed user stories (functional and non-functional) to support the development process. This role is an individual contributor role that requires to work with executives across product and engineering orgs.

The ideal candidate for this position will have more than twelve years of experience in technology as a developer or technical product manager working in an agile development environment. 

  • Develop understanding of existing VISA products and services and apply that knowledge to create solutions for Risk and Identity domain.  

  • Develop of a comprehensive product execution strategy and align with the product roadmap to drive the usage of RaIS products.

  • Ability to do high-level system design and message flows to represent the implementation of the requirements. Ensure all stakeholders have a common understanding of all solution requirements.

  • Drive and facilitate feature grooming session to gather input on functional requirements, product designs, dependencies, or potential problems.

  • Ability to take feature requirements, decompose them into functional and nonfunctional technical requirements related to scaling, security, etc.  Collaborate with Architects and Development stakeholders to provide input, ideate and solidify design.

  • Writes functional and non-functional stories that meet definition of ready for the scrum team. 

  • Maintain Team Backlog and prioritization.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to other TPMs to help build next generation of product talent.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• 10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 7 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 4 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 13+ years of relevant work experience.
• Educational background in Computer Science or Engineering. MBA is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:
• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
• Experience and knowledge of card present, card not present, and alternative payment methods, including details about their mechanics and use cases.
• Proven ability to manage complex products and projects through various, often competing priorities, constraints, and requirements.
• Customer champion with a proven track record of developing and executing a product vision based on deep understanding of customer needs.
• Proven leadership capabilities including strong thought leadership, effective decision making, and ability to drive for results.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes
• Reputation for being a collaborative thought partner and business leader, with ability to organize and motivate work across multiple team boundaries
• Ability to fully understand technical architecture, APIs and overall system design
• Excellent communication and presentation skills at all organizational levels with flair for getting people excited.
• Extensive working experience with agile lifecycle and/or tracking and process management tools, e.g. JIRA, JIRA Align

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 139,800.00 to 181,800.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
