Risk and Identity Solutions team within VAS (Value added Services) organization is looking for a curious, enthusiastic, empathetic, technical leader to help our engineering team be the best they can be, solve problems, execute on ideas, advocate for the customer, and contribute to a team culture built on trust and mutual respect. As a Sr Manager, you will set the vision and strategy for the application development team ensuring that our solutions are flexible, performant, resilient and provides our customers with the best possible experience. This role is a managerial and hands-on technology role.

This position will be based in Austin, Texas and reporting to Director of Engineering team.

Essential Functions

- Consistently developed very strong, sustainable relationships with team, peers, business partners and executive decision makers
- Design, Code, Unit Test, document and implement new solutions & as well as existing programs
- Contribute to enhancements and changes to existing B2B applications codebase
- Develop code that complies with design specifications and meets security and Java/J2EE big data systems with best practices.
- Coding must adhere to all standards for security, be easily maintainable and have high system performance.
- Collaborate with Development & QA staff on individual and team deliverables
- Comfortable working in a loosely structured, fast-paced organization
- Create documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance
- Identify opportunities for future enhancements and refinements to standards, best practices and development methodologies
- Work closely with project team and other groups (Network, QA, Ops, Engineering)
- Participate in design and code review sessions as appropriate to ensure the quality of work delivered by self and teammates are in accordance with development standards.
- Interact with business units to define requirements/modifications and use case to utilize in designing appropriate solutions.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications
• 8+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience
• Experience working on consumer facing product development collaborating with multiple teams that have different development models, release cycles, and developer needs.
• Experience developing highly available and scalable, REST based webservices.
Preferred Qualifications:
• 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
• Demonstrate knowledge and experience in software engineering best practices and the ability to influence the team to adopt the practices especially
• Demonstrate the ability in inspiring, motivating, growing the team to achieve high team engagement, efficiency, and quality
• In-depth understanding of agile principles. Demonstrate expertise in running Agile teams in an enterprise setting
• Strong communication skills. Be able to influence executive teams and other organizations on decisions. Proven collaboration skills with other groups
• Be data driven, understand the need for and apply analytics
• Self-motivated with strong drive for excellence
• Strong leadership qualities and organizational skills as well as the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. In particular, a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical and business issues and solutions to multiple organizational levels internally and externally.
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 148,800.00 to 193,500.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
