Job Description
Visa’s Data Policy and Governance Team (DP&G) creates and implements foundational data management and governance policies, standards and processes. Visa’s brand is built on trust. The Senior Manager, Data Lifecycle Monitoring and Testing, is responsible for the evaluation of Visa’s Data Lifecycle Management practices. This individual must be able to effectively evaluate and measure adherence to policies, standards, frameworks and identify, assess and communicate areas of strength and opportunity to strengthen our data capabilities and control environment. The individual will provide oversight to ensure practices meets internal standards, applicable regulatory requirements and applies industry best practices. The candidate will work closely with business, functions and regional teams to provide input and expertise to drive a best-in-class Data Lifecycle Management capability programs.
Candidate responsible for providing insight/recommending improvements on the control environment related to Visa’s Data Lifecycle Management capability
- Use knowledge of Visa’s business strategy, Global Data Policy and Global Privacy Program requirements to inform risk prioritized test plans
- Develop testing strategies, work plans, informed by interviews with First, Second and Third Line of Defense teams
- Execute testing engagements for functional and business areas to validate controls are working as intended
- Independently assess data practices against policies, frameworks, standards and guidelines
- Learn business processes and perform testing, monitoring, and validation of controls
- For issues identified in testing, provide recommendations for control enhancements and follow-up as necessary to ensure proper resolution
- Prepare management reports and related test results dashboards
- Stay current on the evolving risk landscape, related to data laws, regulations and best practices
- Report on Functional and Product and Payment Services data lifecycle management practices to Data Lifecycle Partners, highlighting areas that warrant attention
- Own and drive reporting to applicable governance to assist management in the early identification of risks and trends
- Collaborate with Data Capabilities team to share thematic findings and recommend capabilities needed to drive further maturity and uplift.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
• 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD
• Excellent data analysis skills and demonstrated experience in testing, validation, Quality Assurance
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills (ability to translate complex information into comprehensive and concise test results and recommendations)
• Strong planning, organizational skills with ability to manage assignments that are of diverse scope and complexity and require significant initiative and judgment
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with ability to develop and sustain relationships across levels and role types, influences and collaborates with all levels, functions and geographies
• Detailed oriented, superior communication and problem-solving skills with a passion to get things done, learn and inspire peers and business partners to uplift skills and capabilities
• Knowledge and understanding of risk management practice (e.g., experience in identifying, assessing, treating, and monitoring risks) with ability to turn academic concepts into business practical concepts
• Self-starter, works independently and thrives on driving execution and delivering results
• Experience working to uplift and mature data lifecycle management capabilities, policies definition, controls and frameworks
Preferred Qualifications / Additional Requirements:
• 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
• Audit and/or Compliance experience, preferably with big 4 or other large financial institution, consulting firm or government agency
• Education preferably in Finance, Accounting or Management Information System
• CPA, ACAMs, CRCM CISA, or CIA
• Knowledge of information systems and IT controls
• Knowledge of Industry frameworks and Best Practices (e.g., DCAM (Data Capability Assessment Model), CDMC)
• Experience with data governance, data architecture, data integration, data classification, data strategy, data quality management, data security and privacy, metadata management, data standards, regulatory compliance, and enterprise architecture frameworks
• Sector Experience: Payment processing and payment services, Financial services (within a regulated environment), Regulated industry, Technology and financial technology
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 153,900.00 to 200,000.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
