Job Description
The Senior Director, Sales Learning Consultant, North America will be a key member of Visa University’s Global Learning Delivery organization in North America, reporting to the Head of Learning, North America. This individual will play the lead role to:
Partner with the Sales College, Regional Sales Excellence, and business stakeholders to drive the evolution and adoption of the IDDEA Sales methodology within the region by providing input and feedback around the global roadmap and delivery strategy Act as the Master Facilitator for IDDEA deliveries throughout the North America (NA) Region Consult with NA regional stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of commercial capabilities across the Sales organizations to develop and deploy effective learning solutions required to grow and optimize Visa’s commercial strategy Collaborate closely with the Sales College to ensure alignment with and input to the Global learning strategy. Be an engaging and collaborative partner to other Sales Learning Consultants and Trainers across the GLD organization
The ideal candidate is passionate about driving commercial methodologies, has advanced experience with the sales life cycle, consultative selling, financial acumen, and the payments industry. Familiarity and experience with applying a consultative sales methodology would be ideal.
What we expect of you, day to day.
- Build deep, trusted partnerships and manage relationships with the NA Regional Sales Leadership Teams, Function Leaders, and HR Partners to understand commercial learning goals and needs, gain buy in to proposed initiatives, and drive impact.
- Serve as the lead Regional Subject Matter Expert (SME) on VU’s commercial programmes and learning solutions that have already been developed for global implementation and scale into region.
- Collaborate with NA Sales stakeholders to develop and deliver regional training needs assessments, analyze related performance challenges, and work with the VU Sales College to create programs that meet current and future skills and development needs.
- Develop and scale regional learning solutions as wells as identify and manage local vendor partners to support these programs.
- Use knowledge of commercial processes and methodologies to design, develop, and implement selling-focused learning solutions aligned with business priorities and initiatives to ensure effective delivery and relevance of content.
- Serve as a ‘Master Trainer’ in NA for the Sales College, responsible for collecting feedback from senior regional stakeholders on the Sales content and provide feedback that influences global curriculum design.
- Contribute to the evolution and application of sales competency models for specific lines of business.
- Provide coaching to Account Executives and Client-facing teams. Create strategic learning roadmaps for new hires and the ongoing development of existing employees
- Build long-term business relationships with various groups within the Sales organization to ensure client facing roles have the right skills to excel in their jobs
- Demonstrate a strong knowledge of the business, including internal and external trends, and keep up to date with Visa’s business, the payments industry, and regional nuances.
- Support the ROI strategy for key global initiatives and the collection of regional ROI metrics to support that strategy.
- Champion and exemplify excellence in facilitation to deliver content in a simple and effective way. Foster a safe environment to have productive discussions, promoting and inspiring a culture of learning that encourages continuous performance improvement, innovation, and learner engagement.
This is a fully-remote role. The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $127,400 USD to $207,000 USD. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location of applicant. In addition, this position is eligible for bonus and equity. Qualifications
• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
• 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience, 15+ years’ experience in client-facing roles with increasing responsibility including leading a Sales and/or client-facing team and solution selling in the payments sector, managing, and coaching sales and client-facing teams, developing sales training programs, working with sales organization(s) to develop educational training solutions to improve sales competencies.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate, consult and influence senior leaders, business partners, internal and external customers, and colleagues to drive business results.
• Outstanding communication (written and verbal), consulting, stakeholder management, relationship management and influencing skills at all levels in an organization.
• Effective track record of using metrics and analytics to drive decision making and increased value generation (sales, satisfaction surveys, etc.), comfortable calculating ROI of Sales training programs
• Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and change to improve efficiency and effectiveness of commercial learning solutions.
• Passionate about Sales with prior sales experience in a worldwide sales organization
• Deep knowledge of the payments business, preferably Visa’s products and services and regulatory landscape.
• Strong, polished executive presence and business acumen a must.
• Experience working with strategic partners and industry and/or regulator subject matter preferred.
• Passion for teaching and facilitation and providing the best learning experiences for learners, comfortable with amending deliveries for senior executives or intact audiences
• Experience delivering formal or informal learning programs using single channel or blended approaches, including virtual and classroom-based instructor-led training (ILT), peer-to-peer learning, on-the-job learning, and eLearning
• Ability to comprehend and translate complex technical concepts into terms that are easy to understand for non-industry audiences in an influential and persuasive manner.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and rapidly changing content and strategies.
• Fluent with developing and driving adoption/reinforcement of learning solutions to effect lasting behavior change

This role may be located in Foster City, CA, Atlanta, GA, New York, NY and San Francisco, CA. The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 135,400 USD to 220,000 USD. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location of applicant. In addition, this position is eligible for bonus and equity. Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
