Job Description
A “Card Present” Solution Architect (CP-SA) has overall technical responsibility for all card present aspects at Cybersource, ensuring we meet our client contractual obligations and aspirations to deliver innovative payment solutions, globally and at scale. The ideal candidate will bring their technical, relationship, and payments experience to the “Cybersource Card Present” team, helping define, design, integrate, test, document, commercialise, manage and evangelise our solutions.

Essential Duties:
Translate clients business strategies and objectives into an overall solution approach and roadmap that is used to determine the solution and functionality that Cybersource/Visa can implement, on a committed timeline and budget.
Collect use cases, customer stories, and product requirements to clearly articulate desired features, functionality and gaps.
Design “Card Present” & “omni-channel” solutions based on a detailed understanding of a client's strategic priorities, business requirements, and technical capabilities.
Provide thought leadership on all payments and commerce-related matters.
Partner with Regional Solution Managers, and other Solutions Architects to collectively meet our clients business objectives.
Collaborate with the Client-facing commercial team, Client Engagement Manager, and Implementation Manager to own all technical payment related client deliverables, from inception to release.
Manage client evolution for new launches including further solution design, training and operational processes for solution launches where appropriate.
Engage Product Managers, Sales Engineers, Developers, Product Support, Partners and External vendors on solution scoping and business case creation for all net new development.
Design payment flows and business processes working with Product Management and Partners to understand product gaps and timescales for delivery. This includes providing input into the creation and maintenance of client product documentation and client implementation plans.
Drive coordination with core product teams to prioritize product changes and feature enhancements, identifying critical paths and risks.
Regularly formulate hypothesises and pull together proof of concepts to test them.
Participate in the ongoing solution prioritization process for new or proposed client and partner initiatives to create fact-based assessments of projects with supporting recommendations for Executive Leadership.
Maintain a deep and sustained level of involvement in the internal and external testing of all product, solution, and feature releases, to ensure that all requirements and flows meet defined requirements and quality standards.
Maintain high level of expertise across CyberSource products and solutions with a detailed understanding and appreciation for overall strategic context, priorities, and revenue goals.
Stay abreast of evolving payment technologies, innovations and strategic partners that may accelerate speed-to-market, or enhance our existing products and solutions.
Initiate solution ideation and execution to drive the creation of new solutions with CyberSource solution owners and product managers, as well as 3rd-party technology providers. Turn ideas into proof of concepts, prototypes and technical artifacts to highlight our innovations, or to solicit client feedback on new product features or functionality.
Create and review implementation and certification test cases.
Debug complex integration and production issues should the need arise.
Identifying and working with regional terminal distribution providers, to ensure they meet country and client specific requirements.

Projects You Will Be A Part Of
The nature of projects in this role will vary, but the overall focus is helping technology partners and acquirers solve their most strategic business problems.
The individual will engage clients at a detailed level to gain an understanding of their business needs and identify or collaboratively ideate solutions and recommendations to address their challenges through the use of Visa’s existing products or potentially new innovative solutions.
Qualifications
10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
• Successful candidates should have a minimum of 8+ years of business experience within a top tier payment gateway and/or Merchant Acquiring Institution
• While a Bachelor’s degree is required, an MBA or equivalent is strongly preferred.
Technical
• Advanced understanding of banking, payment card systems, payment methods and merchant acquiring and processing in the United States.
• Proven experience with ISO8583 and ISO20022
• Outstanding knowledge of “Card Present” processing and security.
• Impressive EMV knowledge and experience.
• Detail knowledge and experience around EMV certification and certification processes.
• Current knowledge of emerging payment trends, players and competitive landscape in the APAC region.
• A good understanding of software development and best practices.
• Basic Java or .Net development experience to build/run basic test harnesses.
• Demonstratable experience in ecommerce, mobile and point-of-sale technologies is preferable.
• Highly preferred to have an understanding of Fraud Management, Security, PCI, Product Management and Marketing Principles.

COLORADO APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position in Colorado is 124,200 USD to 161,500 USD. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for annual bonus and equity.

Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
