Job Description

The Visa Digital and Developer Platform Organization (DDP) has the mission of "Leading Visa into Digital Commerce for Everyone, Everywhere." DDP team is responsible for architecture, design and development of Visa's digital and mobile products, including Visa Checkout, Visa Token Services, Push Payments and Visa Digital Commerce App.

In this position, you will be part of the Mobile Enablement Platform organization contributing to the backend development of Visa Digital Commerce App (VDCA) to enable digital payment through mobile application. Your primary responsibilities include architect, design, build, develop, test, and/or implement software systems and/or applications. Conduct business and technical analysis, code reviews, unit/functional/integration testing, and implement and produce technical documentation of solutions for new development, system enhancements, and production support. Design, develop, and implement modifications and corrections to existing software, including the development of debugging routines.

Candidates for this role will be responsible for the design and implementation of the platform for consumer-facing mobile and digital products. Must be able to coordinate and manage input from business and technology stakeholders across the enterprise and be responsible for the design and execution of large-scale technology initiatives. In this position, you are first and foremost a passionate and talented developer that can work in a dynamic environment as a member of Agile Scrum teams. Your strong technical leadership, problem-solving abilities, coding, testing, and debugging skills are just a start. You must be dedicated to filling product backlog and delivering production-ready code in three to five-week sprints.  You must be willing to go beyond the routine and prepared to do a little bit of everything.

The senior software engineer position is based in Austin, Texas. 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• 2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)

• 3 or more years of relevant work experience in software development using Java and JEE with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)
• Experience with web services standards and related technologies (SPRING, JAXRS, Apache CXF etc.)

• Solid understanding of database technologies and SQL and JPA

Preferred Qualifications
• Strong foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms and software design optimized for mobile platform
• Strong dedication to test automation, code quality and Test Driven Development
• Proven problem solving skills and an ability to respond resourcefully to new demands, priorities and challenges
• Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills along with effective communication (both written and verbal) skills
• Ability and desire to learn new skills and take on new initiatives
• Preferred Experience in payments integration and / or online ecommerce shopping and / or Payment gateways
