Job Description

Our Finance Business Partners (FBP) provide financial analysis and decision support to the Products, Solutions, New Payment Flows and Innovation business divisions. We are the liaison point for finance activities and insights relating to these areas. The teams we support constitute the backbone of the European business as well as the brain behind all the innovation and ventures into new payment segments and their peripherals where don’t operate yet.

We are seeking a Senior Finance Manager to support the Value Added Services (VAS) portfolio in Europe as a FBP.  Responsibilities include critical aspects of financial planning and analysis and, crucially, the production of high-quality analysis to supplement regular reporting and provide commercial insights that support the Product leadership team in taking the business forward.

The incumbent will report to the Senior Finance Director and will provide key financial and commercial support and direction to Finance and Leadership teams. The role holder key focus will be to use data and apply analytical rigour to provide insights, bringing life to MI reporting and adding value in business decisions, whether during the budget round, during the year or specific investments decision points.  There will be an element of cross-team working, including providing analysis and insights for the Continental European clusters.  Therefore, a degree of curiosity, flexibility, the ability to multi-task and be self-driven are all required.

This hands-on role requires strong commercial acumen with the desire and ability to challenge the status quo to improve the effectiveness, efficiency and performance of the function.

The successful candidate is expected to work closely with the Global Product Finance Business Partner team, different Finance teams within Visa including Controllership and FP&A in Europe, and other Finance business partners across functions and geographies.

Key Accountabilities

Finance Business Partnering

  • Accountable for analysing results, financial projections of the business and driving functional revenue, and ensuring that the financial position is correctly understood, interpreted and communicated
  • Maintain a detailed knowledge of VAS drivers and develop a comprehensive understanding of how this fits into the overall business strategy for Visa in the region
  • Provide strong financial thought leadership as it relates to growth strategies, current performance, business case analysis at a pan-European level and within markets
  • Maximise value achieved by driving commercial thinking across the functions and influence the outcomes by providing challenge and support to the functional leadership teams, ensuring decisions are commercially sound and in the best interests of VISA
  • Provide effective Decision Support on key investment proposals and opportunities for strategic initiatives by executing complex analysis, business case modelling and forecasting
  • Develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders within European markets and the Global Products team

Planning, Analysis & Insights

  • Support delivery of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and ad-hoc strategic financial planning exercises, including ‘What-If’ scenario analysis and responses to multi-year revenue and expense challenges
  • Leverage data and business expertise to ‘deep dive’ into key business trends and performance drivers to provide new insights and influence business strategy
  • Build a good understanding of the Visa Products and Solutions’ business models to add insightful commentary to business results to help senior management run their business

  • Support the Products and Solutions stakeholders in building robust business cases for new investments, products and services to drive commercial value and support strategic planning and client deals
  • Coordinate and consolidate inputs from the Cluster Finance teams and Products and Solutions leads in European markets, Hub and Global Finance team for an overall view of Products and Solutions finances
  • Clearly communicate compelling messages to senior executives, external business partners, and Finance counterparts in other functions and regions

Qualifications

  • Extensive Business Partnering experience with progressively increasing responsibilities.
  • Ability to build and cultivate effective relationships with senior executives and stakeholders within the business and the Finance function at a regional and global level
  • Strong commercial focus with a proven record of analysing business performance, identifying trends and issues, and challenges the norm
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor, and the ability to interpret trends, identify issues and recommend actions
  • Data analytics experience and application of data tools (R, Python, SQL) to large data sets desirable
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and build credibility as a "peer" with business leaders in regional functions
  • Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities
  • Experience of finance systems and advanced user of Microsoft Office programmes desirable
  • MBA / Post graduate degree desirable
  • Broad understanding of the payment landscape desirable
  • Proven self-starter
