Team Summary

The South Asia country team comprises highly motivated problem solvers who create impactful experiences for our clients. Here at Visa, we strive to excel with our partners via strong collaboration and look to enable and inspire. The team is accountable for managing client relationships within the payment ecosystem such as banks, financial institutions, fintechs, etc.

What a Director – Business Development does at Visa:

The Director – Business development will be responsible for development and execution of the business development strategy in select fast-growing South Asia geographies (Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan) to grow Visa’s business and increase revenues. The individual will work with both existing and prospective clients to drive payment volumes and transactions, launch new Visa products and programs, gain share of client’s payments business, grow client partnerships through strategic deals. The individual will collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams across Product, Marketing, Finance, Merchant Acquiring, Client Services, Business Solutions, Consulting & Analytics, etc. to formulate and implement product strategy, provide superior client services, drive new payment flows and other value-added services. S/he will also be responsible for building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders of the payments ecosystem, including but not limited to, processors, aggregators, facilitators, key merchants partners, regulatory authorities, etc. to align business objectives and drive Visa/s strategic initiatives in the markets.

Projects you will be a part of:

You will be responsible for managing client relationships end-to-end and supporting the country team in executing the business plan. You will also identify and qualify new business opportunities and build relationships with new clients. The role will involve structuring partnership proposals, and pitches to clients, to help Visa win new business and deepen partnerships. You will work with clients and partners in Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan, and the Visa cross-functional teams locally and regionally to implement the company’s business priorities.

Qualifications

What you will need:

We are looking to hire an exceptional leader with deep experience in banking/financial services, payments and fintech, digital commerce or consumer technology. An ideal candidate should have innate curiosity about payments and digital commerce and must be skilled at consultative selling working collaboratively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders at all levels. The leader must possess strong communications skills with the ability to influence client sales, relationships and engage executive level stakeholders. The individual should be proficient at managing multiple projects to ensure deliverables and timelines are met. As a candidate you should have:

  • At least 15 years of sales / business development / account and client relationship management experience within similar or relevant industry
  • Understanding of banking operations and/ or payments, including products & services, business models, systems & processes
  • Good in financial budgeting, deal structuring, negotiation, execution
  • Recognized degree preferably in Business Management

  • Excellent analytical skills, written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and presentation skills, and proven ability to influence key stakeholders
