We are the Data Platform Technology team within Visa. We collaborate with every other team at Visa to deliver on our broad mandate of Data Platforms that are secure, robust, and effective. To achieve this, we continuously and proactively reflect, learn, and commit to develop our platform, our processes, and our people.

We are actively looking for a talented and versatile Principal Program Manager to join our team!

·        Collaboratively lead technology teams to deliver successful Big Data Platform (Hadoop ecosystem) programs.

·        Proactively build partnerships at all levels and work across Visa to ensure ownership and accountability of technical project planning and delivery for complex infrastructure build out and large scale migration programs.

·        Drive a continuous focus on developing automation to replace repeatable, operational tasks.

·        Proactively, assertively and creatively remove obstacles that slow down or prevent programs from delivering against program objectives.

·        Coach across teams and senior leaders throughout the software development process with Agile, Scrum, and Lean practices.

·        Implement required phase gates and artifacts. In parallel, partner to improve our internal tools and processes with an agile mindset.

·        Accountable for end-to-end planning of one or more projects and/or Agile teams. Lead and negotiate scope, schedule, budget, risks, deployments and communications for programs and initiatives.

·        As Program Manager, manages multiple programs through the software development life cycle using Agile, Scrum, and Lean practices and works cross-functionally throughout the company to ensure projects are developed and deployed with quality and timely delivery into our production systems. 

·        Implement Visa PMM required program gates and artifacts. In parallel, partner to improve our internal tools and processes with an agile mindset.

·        Lead budget development and management of program budgets for areas of responsibility to within defined target.

Qualifications

·        Bachelors or Masters Computer Science or equivalent.

·        12-15+ years of progressively more responsible experience in directly relevant leadership roles in technology management, program management, technical product development and management.

·        5 years as an agile coach , transfomraiton lead,  portfolio lead leading complex cross functional , geographically distributed programs. 

·        18+ years of industry experience. 

·        Demonstrated curiosity and ability to understand architectural and technical aspects of Data Platform and DevOps projects.

·        Thorough understanding of infrastructure processes and lifecycle; ability to adjust and apply this knowledge in a dynamic environment using agile methodologies.

·        Experience with some Data Platform technologies (Hadoop, Impala, Kafka, Hive, etc)

·        Understanding of technologies and products required to bring monitoring solutions to market at scale.

·        Outstanding organizational, communication, interpersonal, relationship building skills conducive to collaboration; able to work well in a global matrix management environment.

·        Excellent analytical skillset with a history of hands-on, detail orientation.

·        Experience framing, establishing and implementing large-scale enterprise-level change initiatives.

·        PMP, SAFe, Scrum certification preferred.
