Job Description

  • Own the development of detailed financial models and analyses to evaluate client incentive contract offers, utilizing and producing different financial outputs as appropriate (including Visa P&L, projected cash flow and amortization schedules).

  • Manage deals through the offer approval and execution process on behalf of Finance, coordinating and supporting various internal stakeholders.

  • Proactively and independently identify and communicate business issues related to incentive structures, contract language, and incentive negotiations.

  • Collaborate and partner with Visa’s Sales and Legal teams to provide support and direction regarding appropriate contract structures and terms.

  • Participate and manage the resolution of financial structure and contractual issues during negotiations with clients, and the approval of contract language to insure consistency with approved financial terms.

  • Prepare presentation documents and assist in presenting findings to all levels of management.

  • Prepare ad-hoc analyses and reports as needed.

  • Support training and development of more junior team members and account executives on deal processes and tools.

Ideal candidate comes from a top-tier corporation, and will have a demonstrated record of strong performance and advancement in their career.  Relevant industry experience may include bankcard / payments, commercial banking, investment banking, consumer products / retailing, or consulting / strategy.  In addition, the candidate will bring expertise in the analysis of financial transactions.  The candidate will be poised, associate well with all levels of employees within the company, communicate effectively while building positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and proactively deliver results.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 - 8 years of work experience, preferably within the financial services or payments community
  • Financial transaction analysis experience preferred; contract or pricing negotiation experience a plus
  • BA/BS degree required.  Accounting/Finance/Economics major from a top tier institution a plus
  • MBA is an advantage
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong data research and manipulation skills
  • Experience in investment, valuation, or transactional analysis
  • Ability to be objective in analysis.
  • Strong communication skills: written, verbal, and formal presentation; able to adjust communication style and messaging for different audience
  • Ability to articulate and explain financial constructs to a non-financial audience
  • Strong interpersonal skills: work well as part of a cross-functional team and able to influence both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to find and articulate win-win solutions in contract negotiations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to translate data effectively into actionable information to drive results.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe PDF
  • Creativity
  • Able to work in and bring structure to ambiguous environments

  • This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms
