Job Description

Account Level Management is a global processing platform that provides services for segmenting client portfolios, processing issuer submitted data, spend assessment calculations, and card fee billing to support many of Visa's premium card products. This group works with different internal stakeholders including Product Office, Account Execs, Interchange, Client Support, Pricing, Analytics, Technology and many others. 

Senior ALM Analyst will be a critical member of the team and will have responsibilities for maintaining and enhancing the ALM Analytics Environment and performing analysis on client file processing and spend assessment results to reduce risk, ensure system accuracy and improve transparency and uncover potential problems upfront.  This person will leverage knowledge of big data, database and cutting edge data mining techniques as well as modeling and segmentation.  Based on findings from technical data analysis, this person will draw insights and make actionable recommendations that reflect the client's business and context.   

The position will be based at Visa's headquarters in Foster City, California. 

Job Duties

  • System accuracy KPIs design, development, deployment and execution 

  • Enhance ALM analytics framework with appropriate data mining and analytic techniques

  • Support data visualization

  • Become ALM SME

  • Manage and execute small to medium analytics projects independently from end-to-end; work with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams to deliver on these projects

  • Store, retrieve, and manipulate large volume of data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements 

  • Extract actionable business insights from the data and build deliverables that clearly communicate the findings and recommendations

  • Find opportunities to create and automate repeatable analyses or build self-service tools

  • Support data driven decision making

  • TRAVEL REQUIREMENT :

    This position requires the incumbent to travel for work 5-10% of the time.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

5 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Able to communicate data and technical concepts to a business audience

  • High level of competence in Microsoft Office Suite

Primary Technical skills:

  • Excellent hands-on analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor

  • Experiences with creating complicated and efficient queries in common database (DB2, HBase, others)

  • Expertise using Hadoop and the related query engines (Hive / Impala)

  • Experience in data visualization and building dashboards in Tableau

  • UNIX proficiency is must

Secondary Technical skills:

  • Proficiency with SAS as a statistical package/R/Python

  • Predictive analytics and statistical modelling

Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of business experience, with minimum of 5 years of data analysis involving large volume of data using common analytical/statistical software in relevant settings such as analytics, business-consulting, or other data-driven functions 

  • Experiences with monitoring production system to detect and investigate anomalies under tight time frame

  • Preferred to have Post Graduate degree in quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Operational Research, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering or equivalent experience

  • Analytics experience in credit cards, financial services, is helpful but not required

Physical Requirements

This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, reach with hands and arms, and bend or lift up to 25 pounds.
