Job Description

CyberSource, a Visa company, is a world leader in eCommerce payment processing, risk management and security capabilities.  CyberSource is launching innovative new products in the payment space. CyberSource collaborates with merchant acquirers around the globe to provide integrated acceptance solutions to clients of all sizes.

The Product Manager for Reseller Payment Security is responsible for helping manage and direct CyberSource’s world-class tokenization solutions tailored for our Reseller and Acquirer partners.  Their charter will be enabling our existing suite of Payment Security solutions to operate at scale for our partners, either as a resold or on-behalf-of solution. By working closely with regional sales, marketing, risk and product management, they will ensure the business fully supports partner needs, through all possible channels to meet changing regional requirements. The Manager of Reseller Payment Security Solutions will also be responsible for driving strategic security initiatives and reporting progress to senior executives.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the payments industry, in PCI best practices and product strategy. The candidate must be a creative problem solver who works well in a highly collaborative environment, can bring structure to ideation teams, and has an ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization. The candidate must be able to demonstrate over time specific CyberSource risk product expertise to both internal and external clients.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build great relationships generate consensus and promote excitement and enthusiasm for bridging payment security initiatives and reseller priorities are critical qualities for success. This person will focus on working not only internally with product development to deliver breakthrough results, but also externally evangelizing those results to the global marketplace. Above all, this person must intrinsically be a champion for CyberSource’s payment security products and promote usage within the company and to global clients. This position may require occasional travel to client sites and Visa locations around the globe.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • 4 years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD degree

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years’ experience in Product Strategy and/or Management.  

  • Specific industry experience in digital commerce and with responsibility for managing payment security products including tokenization, secure storage and encryption systems

  • Comfortable with present data compliance standards for digital merchants, including PCI DSS

  • Direct, hands-on experience with development, deployment and configuration of payment security and tokenization strategies within a merchant or acquirer context to meet particular security objectives, i.e., minimizing PCI scope.  

  • Understanding payments, fraud and payment security landscape and ability to translate product strategy into executable plans.

  • Proven history of managing risk-based products through phases of a product’s lifecycle – from concept through management and ultimately sunset.

  • Solid understanding of how Security for online payments have evolved over the last 10 years

  • Direct experience managing the design, development, implementation and maintenance of security products for the acquiring community, including support for all necessary compliance and documentation policies.

  • Able to build relationships and gain exposure to internal and external client leadership teams through demonstrating key domain expertise.

  • In-depth knowledge of Visa and CyberSource risk products with the ability to identify potential synergies gained through partnership offerings, or market gaps.

  • Strong track record in working with Security products that have had tangible benefits to merchants, i.e. reducing fraud cases, verified reduction in security incidents etc.

  • Working knowledge of  Network Tokenization schemes and protocols

  • Familiarity with current security threat vectors associated with small- and mid-size businesses

Additional Information

Essential Functions

  • Promote Cybersource’s leadership in Acquirer risk management by delivering market leading products and services for clients

  • Drive product requirements and delivery for merchant payment security solutions (e.g., Secure Storage, Token Management Solution, Secure Acceptance Flex) to global service providers including Payment Service Providers, acquirers, banks, resellers, and marketplace customers to enforce business policy, comply with regional regulations, mitigate seller risk, and share aggregated reporting. 

  • Construct this new product line to run in conjunction with established hierarchy, reporting, and boarding assets to provide valuable end-to-end services and revenue opportunities.

  • Leverage existing CyberSource brand and risk evaluation expertise to capitalize on new markets and stakeholders.

  • More broadly, construct, propose and sell a robust vision for all products belonging to CyberSource’s risk management suite and evangelize that product vision throughout the global organization, Visa and with clients.

  • Work closely with technical product management counterparts to define feature-level technical requirements for new risk products, as well as provide support to prioritize enhancements to existing products

  • Work closely with global Product groups to ensure regional requirements are represented on roadmaps, dev backlogs, and prioritized accordingly.

  • Create comprehensive business plans including: competitive landscape, SWOT, market potential (by region), customer and financial targets, distribution opportunities, potential partner relationships, operational support, marketing and communication plans.

  • Help lead cross-functional core and extended business teams across Visa to understand the opportunity, review the health of the overall Risk product suite, identify opportunities for growth, address issues, propose Risk roadmap priorities and drive recommendations to company executives.

  • Become a “face” of CyberSource’s Risk Products within the industry, Visa, the global merchant and acquirer communities, as well as internally by representing our vision, expertise, capabilities and our market leadership position. Maintain close relationships with key acquirer contacts and end-users to proactively solicit feedback on features, functionality, services and future requirements. 

  • Work closely with Global Sales management to understand market needs, opportunities, competitive landscape, distribution/partnership opportunities and win/loss data.   Participate in strategic sales meetings to galvanize support for selling more of the product line while providing updates on new development activities, features/functions, program activities, vision, etc.

  • Provide challenge to and/or modifications to product constructs, if they create incremental risk to Visa. Identify and validate products that can be deployed to resolve execution issue/risk

  • Identify key partners and vendors, either business or technical, and lead relationship management and contract negotiation.  Ensure cost structures enable competitive pricing for feature/function additions.

 

Travel Requirements

This position requires the incumbent to travel for work 10% of the time.

 

Mental/Physical Requirements

This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, reach with hands and arms, and bend or lift up to 25 pounds.
