Job Description

Purpose

Lead our people business acting as an influential Business Partner providing consultative and advisory service to General Managers and functional heads. Develop and drive a talent strategy, objectives and programmes enabling employees to attain their business objectives. Responsible for providing coaching to managers on HR, people and organisational matters. Influence the development and delivery of the HR strategy through working as a collaborative member of the HR team. Reporting to the SVP, Human Resources, Central Europe, Middle East & Africa.

Principle Responsibilities/Key Results Area

Business Partner:

  • Responsible for the provision of human resources expertise to business divisions/offices in all aspects HR including employee relations, performance management, talent management, reward and workforce planning.

  • Ensure that human resources policy and advice to client groups is in accordance with employment law, Visa strategy and best practice.

  • Advise, support and train managers on addressing and dealing with employee related issues in order to maintain good employee relations. Implement ER related policies (e.g. flexible work requests, disciplinary, grievance, retrenchment etc.).

  • Advise clients with the development of organisational design and enact upon it through effective change management.

  • Work with clients to build high performing teams (real, virtual, matrix, cross-functional etc.)

Talent Management

  • Design and implement programmes that build the capabilities required to delivery upon business strategy and objectives.

  • Facilitate global employee & leadership assessment and development initiatives.

  • Assist in the implementation of reward education including pay review, benchmarking; and performance related pay and reward.

Workforce Planning & Resourcing:

  • Work with clients to create and manage a workforce plan and in partnership with Talent Acquisition, recruit to this.

  • Assist with advice on contracts of employment for employees, including ex-pats, overseas ‘local’ employees and relocations.

  • Work with outsourced providers on the above. Ensure cost effective provision of a high quality resourcing service

  • Participate in the selection process as appropriate

  • Manage the orientation and induction process for new hires

  • Drive the Employment Equity, BBBEE, and Skills Development agenda in South Africa

Strategic Nature, Management Accountability, & Scope

  • Actively participate in developing HR strategies, objectives, policies and programmes.

  • Provide strategic thinking to solve business challenges combined with excellence in tactical execution of solutions.

  • Effectively collaborate and engage with global, regional and functional colleagues on deployment of HR projects and developments e.g. performance management, organisation design

HR Decision Support / Administration

  • Ensure HR administration support is provided in effective and timely manner. Minimise bureaucracy whilst providing control and compliance.

  • Leverage data analystics and insights to enable decision making for leadership and within HR

Decision Making & Complexity

  • Work with global HR teams, in particular functional and other regions HRBPs, to ensure effective matrix management of assigned business divisions

  • Advise on local matters whilst seeking to ensure HR and business objectives are effectively implemented

  • Manage assigned business divisions within complex geographical legislative environment

Reporting Relationships & Interactions

  • Critical relationships with regional HRBP team and HR functional teams (resourcing, talent management, reward, operations) and Global HRBPs of assigned client groups

  • Daily interventions with senior management within assigned (client) business divisions/offices and their staff

  • Key relationships with Corporate Communications and Legal teams

Required Experience (education, skills - professional/technical/business)

  • 10 or more years HR generalist experience and technical competence

  • Experience in an international company

  • Strong understanding of and ability to interpret local employment law

Preferred Experience (education, skills - professional/technical/business)

  • Experience working in one or more of HR centers of excellence such as workforce planning, talent acquisition, talent management, reward, organisation design

  • Relevant HR accreditation/ tertiary qualification

  • Regional Language skills
