Visa Digital & Developer Platform at Visa is looking for a strong technical leader to join our team at Bangalore, India office as Integrated Tools and Developer Efficiency Director.  You will be leading a team of backend, UI and Mobile development engineers in providing operational excellence across various technology teams by developing tools and capabilities needed for seamless execution. The team is focused on early integration capabilities, Automation and Mobile capabilities needed to facilitate the software development process, push new features from development to production in a predictable, low risk and agile manner. 

We are looking for experienced leaders to interact with various technology stakeholders across the enterprise and be responsible for the quality of large-scale technology initiatives. You are expected to exercise independent judgment and take ownership of deliverables.  Your strong technical leadership, people management, problem solving abilities, coding, testing and debugging skills is just a start.  An ideal candidate will also have a strong operations background, Mobile Development experience, automation and tools development experience.  You must also be committed to continuous improvement of the agile process, demonstrating your ability to share knowledge, mentor and motivate others.  You must be willing to go beyond the routine and prepared to do a little bit of everything.

Job Responsibilities

• Build, grow, and lead an engineering team in India to own the Shift left initiatives, Early integration capabilities, automation tools development, Mobile Lab setup and engineering best practice.

• Motivate and retain top talents for individual and organizational growth.

• Develop roadmaps and execution plans to meet business objectives with existing or emerging technologies in your area by partnering with other stakeholders

• Provide technical guidance, knowledge transfers and mentorship to engineers in the team.

• Participate in Integrated Tools roadmap creation by identifying capabilities across programs that can help improve efficiency, testability and quality

• Instill best practices for software development and service execution. Drive for engineering excellence including automation, quality, efficiency, and productivity. Automation and reliability are the key for providing large scale services effectively.

• Work in a diverse dynamic environment that involves internal/external customers. Manage stakeholder expectations, track and deliver external commitments on time.

• Provide technical solutions in building tools and capabilities across Mobile, Backend and Web technologies

• Identify opportunities for future enhancements and refinements to standards, best practices and development methodologies

• Implement and enforce best practices for code promotion across the various environments.

• Strong SDLC background in Agile/Iterative practices

•Bachelor degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. MS or other related advanced degree preferred.

• Close to 10 years relevant work experience or an equivalent mix of work and project experience in software development with experience as a Tools Engineering Manager.

•Proficient in both-

• Backend Technologies like Java, Spring, hibernate, oracle, and other languages or tools and
• Mobile Technologies like Android and IOS Application Development, Mobile test frameworks such as Appium and other similar technologies.

•Candidates with experience in both Frontend and Backend technologies are preferred.

•Candidate must be willing to code if required.

•Deep knowledge of web services standards and related technologies (XML, SOAP, REST)

•Hands on experience with Continuous Integration and Deployment

•Strong scripting skills in Python, UNIX shell scripting and Perl.

•Solid background in systems engineering and operations would be an advantage

•Hands on experience in tools such as Jenkins, Git/Stash, Liquibase, Maven and Chef.

•Experience with Agile development methodology

•Experience in leading large-scale projects

•Must demonstrate longer-term strategic thinking and staying ahead of state-of-the-art curve in order to keep abreast with what is possible technically, operationally and professionally.

•Capable of forming and advocating independent viewpoint. Demonstrate strong skills influencing, negotiating and communicating.

•Demonstrated ability to lead, recruit, grow and retain high-caliber talent at scale. Experienced organizing, running, supporting, and growing large technology organization
