What’s it all about?

The Senior Manager – Technology Risk is an exciting opportunity to join the Europe Operational & Technology Risk team.  The Senior Manager will be responsible for the 2nd Line of Defence (LOD) oversight of Technology Risk across Europe. This includes the roll-out of the relevant risk frameworks as well as performing focused risk reviews on technology domains.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage the Technology risk program and framework of Visa’s European business

  • Maintain close contact and credibility with Technology teams based on strong experience of multiple technology domains

  • Lead risk focused reviews (“deep dives”) on specific technology domains based on risk profile

  • Drive post incident reviews including root cause analysis by 2nd LOD, collaborating with the Technology and other operations focused teams.

  • Provide education and tools to the process owners to support self-assessment, measurement, reporting and management of operational and technology risk

  • Drive updates to the European Risk Committee and European Operational Risk Sub-Committee

  • Support the roll-out of the related risk framework including establishing risk limits, key risk Indicators (KRIs), risk control self-assessments (RCSA), controls testing framework and issues/ events management

  • Establish and produce management reporting in support of the various activities within the technology and operational risk management

  • Support the Head of Technology Risk and the Director of Operational and Technology Risk in developing the maturity of risk management activities, provide thought leadership and champion best practices

  • Collaborate with colleagues in 2nd LOD and also with Internal Audit

  • Support a culture of risk transparency and effective challenge

 

Qualifications

Essential Skills:

  • Strong background in technology, with good understanding of infrastructure platforms, architecture and ITIL processes

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at a senior level

  • Strong risk and controls mind set; Prior experience in Audit and/ or implementation of controls frameworks

  • Ability to manage time, work independently and prioritize multiple requests and deadlines

  • Proven skills in critical thinking, problem solving and decision making

  • Curiosity, eagerness to learn and openness to new ideas

Desirable Skills:

  • Technology audit or risk experience a bonus
     
  • Risk management, technology and/or information security certifications e.g. CRISC, CISA, CISM, CGEIT, FAIR, ITIL, CISSP, CCSP, ISO 27001 LA
     
  • Expertise with Excel, business intelligence or data analysis tools and techniques
