Job Description

As an operating unit of Visa's Audit, Risk, and Public Policy organization, the Operational Resilience – Crisis Management Team is charged with protecting corporate assets from significant business interruptions by optimizing risk management practices and building operational resiliency. The Operational Resilience team is comprised of three verticals including Crisis Management, Business Continuity, and IT Disaster Recovery. As part of the Operational Resilience organization, the Crisis Management function is responsible for identifying, structuring, developing, exercising, and maintaining crisis management teams and plans for life safety and business related incidents.

The Director of Crisis Management (Exercise Program) possesses key Visa/payment system/industry knowledge and is responsible for strategically leading and facilitating a global crisis management exercise program. While this is an individual contributor role, the selected candidate will have functional leadership of the crisis management exercise program and requirements. The selected candidate will lead planning teams from various areas across Visa’s organization as part of exercise design, development, and facilitation. The role is responsible for developing and sustaining an annual and long-term training and exercise plan for Visa’s multiple global crisis management teams. This position will fulfill regular crisis management activities, to include supporting the on-call global crisis management rotation.

As a Director level member of the team, the selected candidate will serve in a leadership capacity as they perform their responsibilities of a Crisis Manager. This responsibility includes leading crisis management activation meetings when required, providing mentorship and guidance to less experienced team members, and representing the program and organization in a professional manner.

Requirements

  • You will plan, develop, facilitate, and conduct comprehensive Crisis Management exercises to validate organization incident management response and recovery capabilities
  • You will provide leadership to ensure training of crisis management team members is consistent, timely, and thorough
  • You will maintain a certification process to ensure training and exercises are completed regularly and in accordance with regulatory and annual program requirements
  • Strengthen the culture, process, and documentation related to crisis management activities through ongoing training and awareness initiatives
  • You will develop and provide regular reports on the health of the crisis management training and exercise program
  • Conduct key stakeholder presentations, seminars and workshops in an effort to help raise team crisis response capabilities
  • You will lead a team of Operational Resilience professionals to create training and familiarization of crisis management, life-safety, business continuity, and emergency preparedness practices
  • Manage high-risk or large scale global business-related incidents that occur in accordance with documented processes, including managing day-to-day operational aspects of crisis management
  • Ensure strict confidentiality with all records, documents, communications, and information related to incidents
  • Position requires 24/7 availability for incident response through an established on-call rotation
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time to support exercise program requirements

Experience

  • 12 years of Visa/payment system/exercise program management experience including participation in a crisis/incident/emergency management program as a team member, leader, or program manager
  • You have prior experience working in a formal training and exercise program
  • You have prior experience working with Senior and Executive management in a training, consultative, and/or advisory capacity
  • Experience in interacting with a global audience to identify geographical unique exercise needs
  • You have prior experience in managing a Corrective Actions Program (CAP) and developing strategies to remediate identified risks
  • Knowledge of payment processing systems including: Clearing, Settlement, Debit Processes, Authorization, and/or Cybersecurity protocols
  • Background and experience with audit and risk practices

Qualifications

  • Relevant Bachelor's Degree; Master's Degree preferred
  • You possess exceptional communication skills, including development of training objectives, training plans, exercise objectives, and exercise materials
  • You demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem solving
  • Possess strong interpersonal and indirect influencing skills, with a demonstrated ability to gain the confidence of individuals at various organizational levels
  • Ability to research and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • You possess strong working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Project)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP), adult education methodology, or other industry recognized professional training/exercise program management certification/license/degree
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Project) with heavy experience in data analytics
