Job Description

The winning candidate must have excellent speaking skill as well as  excellent technical skills. The ability to communicate complex technical  concepts effectively to technical and non-technical audiences is critical. The
ability to teach any audience what they need to know to be successful is also critical.

Qualifications

The Site Reliability Engineer would lead cross-functional teams, architecture discussions between development, operations, and QA. In addition to the architectural work, there will be hands on responsibilities including implementation and troubleshooting.  Other responsibilities for this role will include laying out both a docker monitoring and centralized logging strategy as well as training and gaining buy-in from all impacted groups.

Essential Functions:

  • Architect/Implement/Manage infrastructure to support docker swarm clusters in all enviorments
  • Provide support for all application environments as well as the continuous integration build environment
  • Develop/implement centralized logging strategy
  • Develop/implement container monitoring  strategy
  • Act as the Docker technical SME for our Continuous Integration Team
  • Participate in requirements gathering sessions
  • Evaluate and/or recommend purchases of network hardware, software, and peripheral equipment
  • Coordinate and conduct project architecture, infrastructure review meeting
  • Develop/implement container scaling strategy
  • Provide mentoring for junior members of the team
  • Train members of the continuous delivery team
  • Help promote a devops culture
  • Communicate accurate and useful status reports on a timely basis

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Required:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in technical or related discipline
    • In lieu of degree, a high school diploma/equivalent with four or more years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • 5+ years of software engineering and/or IT operations and infrastructure experience
  • Experience in the following areas:           
    • Linux (Redhat, ubuntu)
    • Container scheduler (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, Mesos)
    • Containerized development (Docker, rkt)
    • Logging tools (ELK stack, Splunk)
    • Monitoring tools (Prometheus, Telegraf)

Preferred :

  • Ability to analyze data using BI tools like Tableau, Business Objects, Excel, and databases.
  • Must be able to write well for communicating and documentation
  • Experience in DevOps culture
  • Application pipeline software (Jenkins, Bamboo)
  • Infrastructure Automation tools (ansible, salt, chef)
  • Source Control Tool Administration (Bitbucket, Github enterprise)
  • Scripting (bash, powershell
  • Must be able to accumulate knowledge quickly and share it via written and verbal means.
  • Must understand financial systems for banking and payment services.
  • Must understand software development using Agile and Waterfall method
  • Experience at a software development organization
  • Experience in both operational and architect roles is
  • Total experience must be tat east 10-15 years
