Job Description

As part of Visa's Global Corporate Communications function, Visa's Client Communications team works closely with the organization's sales force and senior management to support and strengthen Visa's critical relationships with financial institution and merchant clients. The team is responsible for a broad range of communications initiatives. The team helps to manage direct communications to internal client organizations to convey important operational information that clients need to maintain successful Visa programs, as well as communications to clients and the sales force around key business issues, milestones, products and initiatives. Visa Client Communications works across a variety of communications channels to reach its client audiences, including traditional news media, social media, Visa-sponsored forums and industry events and direct communications.

We are looking for a dynamic team player with exceptional writing skills and a blend of public relations (positioning, messaging, media relations and executive visibility) and corporate communications experience. The ideal candidate will be a communications strategist with strong project management skills that thrives in a deadline-oriented environment.

This position is based in Visa's San Francisco / Foster City location and reports into the Corporate Communications Function.


RESPONSIBILITIES
Initiate ongoing evolution of the global client and sales team communications framework and establish functional best practices, including material templates, content calendars and protocols.
Develop client-facing content (written, video, social) including messaging, executive letters, case studies, blog posts, website content, and info-graphics.
Manage internal and client-facing external webinars; including scheduling, materials coordination and presenter preparation.
Develop executive visibility content (speechwriting and presentation creation) for Visa-hosted client forums, industry events and meetings as needed.
Manage industry media / PR efforts, including sharing Visa news and supporting client media engagement as appropriate
Ensure key announcements and business issues are communicated to clients and the sales team effectively and in a timely manner through close partnership with communications teams across product / innovation, public affairs / issues management, employee as well as legal, government relations and corporate philanthropy teams
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with sales and client support team partners; serve as a key source of information and corporate relations liaison for sales and client services teams

Qualifications

The successful candidate will be passionate about the work and excited to support the Visa's corporate communications efforts to clients. That person will be intellectually curious, energized and enjoys the challenges of being in a constantly changing and highly competitive industry. That person will also demonstrate business savvy in understanding the implications of business decisions and how strategic communications protects and enhances both the Visa brand and our relationships with clients. Key attributes include: critical thinking, superior writing editing and proofreading skills, attention to detail, collaborative spirit, creativity, discretion, persuasiveness, resourcefulness, organization, confidence, initiative, flexibility and enthusiasm.

Additionally:
8-10 years of experience in corporate relations/communications or related field; payments industry experience is a plus.
Ability to distill and tailor complex information for key audiences
Ability to communicate across diverse audiences and at all levels; ability to build and nurture cross-functional relationships and foster partnerships; high degree of professionalism, courtesy and respect
Project management expertise; proven ability to manage budgets, timelines and internal and external resources
Ability to work well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and manage multiple projects, often on short deadlines and under pressure
Demonstrated experience leading and executing corporate communications programs
