Job Description

  • Work with all the Business Units within VISA to define critical, time-sensitive applications along with the associated recovery time objectives and recovery point objectives
  • Create a best-practices DR program to protect VISA’s information assets, ensuring appropriate recovery capabilities are in place
  • Lead technical oversight for ITDR programs across key Visa platforms. Define DR program scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
  • Validate existing application and system architectures to ensure expected DR objectives and measures are being achieved and contribute to the formation of new architectures supporting resiliency engineering best practices
  • Work with different departments within VISA to understand business processes and uncover potential risks
  • Use Application Impact Assessments (AIA) to develop scenarios to re-establish operations from various types of technical disruptions
  • Lead and ensure the validity of annual DR/BCP testing activities to ensure VISA is prepared to keep or bring systems online during a DR/BCP event
  • Help establish the ITDR governance structure consistent with accepted professional and industry standards
  • Develop and deliver appropriate Awareness & Training Programs to be used enterprise-wide for the purposes of educating VISA stakeholders on the importance of a comprehensive DR program
  • Support and enhance IT Disaster Recovery Central System to strengthen efficiencies in the management of application compliance data
  • Create KPIs and dashboards to report the success in implementing ITDR technology architecture standards

Qualifications

  • Master Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field: Required
  • 10+ years of relevant experience managing engineering disciplines in High Availability (99.99%+) and High Volume platforms.
  • Preference for those with knowledge of distributed systems
  • 5 + years experience in leading resiliency engineering practices or disaster recovery practices
  • 3 + years experience as a Technical Architecture with strong application of Resiliency Architecture and Design Patterns
  • Excellent verbal/written communication; especially executive level presentations
