Job Description
CNBC is looking for an entrepreneurial and creative leader to build the next generation of premium business podcasts and digital video shows. This is a rare opportunity to shape one of the fastest-growing parts of CNBC's business by creating franchises that engage audiences wherever they consume content—from podcast platforms and YouTube to social media, connected TV and CNBC's owned digital products.
The Director of Podcasts & Digital Shows will oversee the strategy, development, production and growth of CNBC's podcast portfolio while helping create innovative video-first and audio-first programming that extends CNBC's journalism beyond television. The ideal candidate understands what makes a podcast indispensable, what makes a digital show shareable, and how to build loyal audiences across multiple platforms.
This leader should have exceptional editorial judgment, a deep understanding of business storytelling and audience development, and a proven ability to build successful multiplatform franchises. They will collaborate across CNBC's television, digital video, social and editorial teams to transform CNBC's journalism and talent into compelling podcasts and digital shows, using audience insights and analytics to continually expand reach, engagement and loyalty across audio, video and social platforms.
Responsibilities
- Lead CNBC's podcast strategy, including the development, launch and growth of new and existing podcast franchises.
- Develop compelling digital video and audio shows that extend CNBC's journalism and personalities and work with our existing teams to promote these shows across YouTube, podcast platforms, social media and CNBC's owned digital products.
- Identify opportunities to transform CNBC reporting, interviews and personalities into successful recurring franchises.
- Partner with reporters, anchors and producers to develop distinctive programming that attracts new audiences while serving CNBC's core business audience.
- Own the editorial vision, production workflow and publishing strategy for podcasts and digital shows.
- Use audience data and platform analytics to refine programming, optimize distribution and accelerate audience growth.
- Serve as the connective tissue across CNBC's television, digital video, social and editorial organizations, developing shows that leverage the full strength of CNBC's journalism while maximizing audience growth across every major platform.
- Work closely with marketing, social, product and subscription teams to maximize reach, engagement and subscriber acquisition.
- Stay ahead of emerging trends in podcasting, creator media, YouTube and digital video, bringing new ideas and formats to CNBC.
- Help establish CNBC as the leading destination for premium business podcasts and digital-first business programming.
- Collaborate across all Versant News platforms to ensure podcasts and digital shows complement and amplify CNBC's journalism.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Salary range: $175,000-$200,000.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience producing, developing or leading podcasts, digital video programming or other premium editorial franchises.
- Demonstrated success creating or growing podcasts, YouTube channels, digital shows or other audience-driven content brands.
- Strong editorial instincts and exceptional storytelling skills, with experience translating complex topics into engaging programming.
- Deep understanding of podcast platforms, YouTube, social distribution and audience development strategies.
- Experience working with on-air talent, reporters or subject-matter experts to develop compelling recurring formats.
- Proven ability to launch new products or franchises from concept through execution and growth.
- Strong leadership, collaboration and project management skills in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
- Data-informed decision maker who uses audience insights to improve programming and expand reach.
- Passion for business news, markets, technology and the stories shaping the global economy.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across editorial, production, product, marketing and business teams.
