Job Description
OVERVIEW
The News Editorial Intern will support the portfolio of mid‑ and long‑form shows, video podcasts and events content produced across the CNBC’s International Originals team. The intern will gain hands‑on experience across the entire production workflow—from pre‑production planning to post‑production editing—while helping with research, transcription and the creation of supporting assets for digital platforms and social media.You will also support the production of CNBC Asia Pacific’s longest‑running feature program, Managing Asia.
This internship is designed for university undergraduates interested in pursuing a career in TV news production or journalism. Ideal candidates are passionate about business, economics, and financial markets. Interns will have opportunities to expand their understanding of business and market trends while learning essential journalistic skills and production fundamentals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Research and identify C-suite profiles for interviews.
Assist with planning and preparation for filming.
Provide on-site support for on-the-field filming.
Transcribe interviews, short-list suitable footages, source videos and build elements for editing in the post-production process.
Share, discuss and/or pitch ideas on digital elements for the show.
Produce social media assets to support the promotion of the shows.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- University undergraduates majoring in business, economics, mass communication, media production, or similar.
- Must have the legal right to work in Singapore. Only candidates with existing eligibility to work in Singapore will be considered.
- Available for a full time, 6-month internship from June-January
- Strong interest in business and financial news TV production.
- Willingness to learn and proactively take initiative.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills to engage and interact with stakeholders at varying levels.
- Ability to prioritize a variety of tasks while operating under tight deadlines.
- Fluency in English language is essential in order to transcribe interviews effectively.
