Job Description

Our Select Accounts team is seeking an inside sales junior account executive to join our growing team and build a career in sales. This role will offer the ideal candidate an exciting opportunity to learn our processes and products while developing their consultative sales skills within an emerging market for Verisk. The primary role responsibility is focused on assigned territory sales – building a territory comprised of Managing General Agent (MGA), Broker, Agents and other insurance related customer types to focus on growing our presence in these market segments.  The Account Executive will build a pipeline from the ground up, engaging in outbound prospecting to sell services across all personal and commercial product groups.

In addition to the primary role responsibilities described above, the sales account executive will be part of a larger sales team and will contribute to and support various administrative and team reporting tasks and assist other team members as needed.

This is a unique and challenging role that will help develop the candidate’s insurance industry and Verisk product knowledge, and allow them to contribute meaningfully to our sales organization as they learn and gain confidence on the job. The right candidate will be self-motivated, adaptable and able to manage priorities and tight timelines. They will be comfortable engaging prospects and nurturing existing clients to support expansion of this quickly growing non-insurer business segment. As an account executive, you will serve as a lead to identify, manage, and close new business opportunities and you will work closely with your manager, your peers and others across the organization in a team selling environment where no two days or two sales are likely to be the same. This position provides a significant opportunity for career growth for the right individual.

The ideal candidate will bring some experience from the P&C insurance marketplace (eg. Insurance Carrier, Broker or MGA), or from a vendor serving the needs of these client types. They will be confident, self-motivated, adaptable and thrive in a fast-paced sales environment. They will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills and enjoy prospecting to engage with existing clients and to build relationships with potential clients that will lead to new sales opportunities. They will also be comfortable with technology and social media, enjoy learning new things, engaging new people and pushing their own boundaries.  If you are pursuing a career in insurance sales, you excel at building professional relationships with clients, and you are driven to succeed - we want to talk to you!
