Job Description
Position Purpose:
We are seeking a motivated Control Automation Engineering Intern to assist our Control
Automation Engineer at our Veolia Sauget facility. This is an excellent opportunity to gain
hands-on experience with industrial control systems, SCADA, PLCs, and automation
technologies in a real-world industrial environment.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist with troubleshooting and support of SCADA, PLC, Historian, and control system issues
- Support gate access control systems, video surveillance, barcode scanners, and related equipment
- Help with testing, documentation, and implementation of system upgrades
- Assist in creating and maintaining electronic reports and technical documentation
- Participate in research and testing of new automation technologies
- Shadow and learn from experienced automation engineers on daily operations
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Basic understanding of industrial control systems, PLCs, or SCADA systems (coursework or projects acceptable)
- Familiarity with programming concepts and databases (SQL knowledge is a plus)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills and eagerness to learn
- Interest in industrial automation and control systems
- Exposure to Rockwell Automation, Allen Bradley PLCs, or similar platforms
- Basic networking knowledge
- Experience with Microsoft Office and technical documentation
Additional Information
Pay Range: $18 to $22 per hour
Benefits: Interns are considered temporary employees. Medical and basic life insurance coverage is available to temporary employees scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week immediately following 60 days of service. Employees must elect or waive medical coverage within 45 days of their eligibility date.
