Job Description
Position Purpose:
Responsible for maintaining and operating heavy equipment used in operations, including; skid loaders, backhoes and front end loaders used in industrial settings. Work duties may require minor mechanical maintenance and repairs.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ability to operate heavy, power-driven equipment to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Maintain and repair heavy, power-driven equipment.
- Ability to clearly and concisely communicate site conditions or changes in conditions to management.
- Ensures the documentation of equipment maintenance history through the use of the CMMS System.
- Works independent of or with operations and contractors.
- Possible other duties as assigned.
Work Environment:
- Occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and works near moving mechanical parts.
- Possibility of exposure to extreme outdoor weather conditions such as ice and snow.
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background:
- High School Diploma/GED is required.
- 2 to 5 years in an industrial environment or related work experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Operational characteristics of a variety of heavy, power driven equipment.
- Maintenance requirements of heavy, power driven equipment.
- Methods used in general industrial work.
- Understanding of occupational hazards and safe work practices.
- Must be able to participate in after-hours emergency call-outs.
Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
- Must possess a valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
