Position Purpose:

Drinking water and wastewater treatment are great careers. There is a place for everybody in water and wastewater – from the mechanic to the lab guru to the desk worker and the administrator. This entry level position will allow you to earn State of Michigan drinking water treatment, and municipal wastewater treatment licenses. Each license you earn is rewarded with a bonus, a pay raise, and more career opportunities.

The ideal candidate will be trustworthy, reliable, and intelligent. You can learn everything on the job, but it will be helpful if you are comfortable with maintenance, troubleshooting, and basic lab work.

Join our team and assist in the operation of a class B wastewater treatment plant and two drinking water systems.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Daily checks/rounds.
  • Recording meter readings.
  • Operating pumps and presses.
  • Conducting standard laboratory testing.
  • Performing standard maintenance tasks on equipment.
  • Cleaning.
  • Taking water samples.
  • Following safety rules.
  • Hydrant Flushing.
  • Occasionally interact with members of the public.
  • Respond to unexpected problems as the arise.
  • Responding to alarms outside of regular hours on a rotational basis.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
