Here’s what our people have to say about life at Vector.

Our culture sets us apart

  • A diverse culture of staff-led networks and celebrations – We’re proud of our staff-led networks, and of our growing cultural calendar of events and celebrations across the year, from Matariki and Lunar New Year to Diwali and Eid.

The role

As Customer Communications & Content Coordinator, you’ll play a hands-on role in shaping how Vector communicates with customers and communities across Auckland. Working as part of a high-performing customer communications and engagement team, you’ll develop clear, practical and empathetic content across a range of channels – from outage communications and website updates to campaigns, presentations and community-facing materials.

This is a varied, delivery-focused role that combines strong writing with practical design capability. You’ll be comfortable moving between planned work and reactive priorities, exercising judgement about tone, timing and level of detail – particularly when customers are impacted by outages or critical events. Please note that this role also includes participation in a paid on-call roster, supporting customer communications outside standard hours when needed.

What makes this role unique is the breadth and impact of the work. You’ll see your communications land in real time, with a direct influence on customer experience during moments that matter most. You’ll also have the opportunity to blend communications and design in a single role, build your skills across end‑to‑end communications activity, and be part of a close‑knit, supportive team that values learning, a sense of humour and shared success.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for a practical, adaptable communications all‑rounder who enjoys variety and thrives in a fast‑moving environment. Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • Around 3+ years’ experience in communications, content or design, with a strong track record of writing clear, customer‑focused content
  • Hands‑on design capability using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or similar, producing fit‑for‑purpose visuals and materials
  • Experience updating websites and working with content management systems (highly advantageous)
  • The judgement and resilience to operate calmly under pressure, including contributing to an on‑call rotation outside of business hours
  • A collaborative, customer‑first mindset, with the confidence to contribute ideas, adapt quickly and support the team when priorities shift.

Why Vector
