Product Quality Technologist
Join us in our candy-coated world of confectionery manufacturing!
Location: York / Leeds (with travel to other Valeo Foods sites as required)

At Valeo Foods UK, we're looking for a Product Quality Technologist to play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the quality of our confectionery products. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll help ensure our products consistently meet the highest standards, delivering excellent taste, quality and consumer satisfaction.
What you'll be doing
As Product Quality Technologist, you'll be responsible for monitoring product performance, coordinating quality assessments, and providing valuable insight that supports continuous improvement across our product portfolio.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and manage a comprehensive product quality testing programme across our confectionery ranges, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct product sampling and benchmarking activities, comparing our products against market and competitor standards and sharing detailed findings with key stakeholders.
- Perform routine specification and compliance checks, ensuring products consistently meet agreed quality standards.
- Coordinate and facilitate sensory evaluation panels for new products, product renovations and quality improvement projects.
- Analyse testing and sensory data, producing insightful reports and recommendations to support business decisions.
- Collaborate with site teams, Technical, NPD and Commercial colleagues to identify opportunities for product and process improvements.
- Act as a champion for product quality, helping to embed a culture of excellence across the business.
- Support customer and consumer-focused quality initiatives, ensuring products meet both internal expectations and external requirements.
Qualifications
Key Skills and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related field (ideally to degree level).
- Previous experience in quality-associated roles within the FMCG or similar environments.
- A genuine passion for product quality and a commitment to upholding the highest standards.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Confidence in communicating findings and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- A proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Willingness to travel to other Valeo Foods sites when required.
- A full driving licence
Additional Information
Hours: Monday to Friday
Hybrid working - 3 days per week York and Leeds with additional travel as needed
