Line Operative – Days (grade 3)
Blackpool
Monday–Friday (6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm rotating)
What You’ll Be Doing as a Line Operative (days)
Keeping Production Running Smoothly
- Work as part of the line team to meet daily output targets.
- Ensure every product meets our quality and specification standards.
- Keep the line running efficiently by staying alert, organised and proactive.
- You will be handling basic mechanical troubleshooting and machinery changeovers.
Working as a Team
- Follow guidance from the Team Leader and collaborate closely with colleagues.
- Contribute to a positive, respectful and supportive team culture.
Maintaining Safety & Compliance
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and site safety rules.
- Report equipment issues or potential hazards quickly to keep everyone safe.
Accurate Record Keeping
- Complete production paperwork clearly and accurately.
- Record any deviations or issues in line with site processes.
Driving Continuous Improvement
- Spot opportunities to improve processes and raise them through the right channels.
- Support initiatives that help boost Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
Qualifications
We are ideally looking for candidates with proven experience in food manufacturing. A mechanical background is a must - they need to be able to handle basic mechanical troubleshooting, machinery changeovers, and keep the line running smoothly. Standard knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations is also required. Additionally, the role is physically demanding on certain lines, so candidates must be comfortable with manual handling.
