🧭 Your Impact

You’ll play an important role in keeping our day-to-day HR operations running smoothly. You’ll work closely with the HR Lead on requests from the business and alongside two great HR colleagues to make sure things get done. From onboarding to contracts, systems, and people data, your work will directly support our employees and help our People & Culture function run effectively across the company.

🛠️ What You’ll Do

• Partner with our HR Lead to manage and execute core people needs from the business such as performance management, onboarding, offboarding and contract management.
• Oversee and support other key People areas when needed — such as illness and leave registration, general people queries, and hands-on operational support for things like internal communications, documentation, and review processes.
• Maintain our People systems and employee data (Personio), ensuring smooth processes, compliance, and high data quality.
• Prepare and control payroll input, documentation, and reporting in close collaboration with Finance and external payroll providers.
• Play a supportive role in recruitment: help the team with sourcing and pre-selecting candidates for VONQ’s open positions, ensuring a smooth and personal candidate experience.
• Update and implement People & Culture policies to ensure they are compliant, aligned with company culture and business needs, and clearly communicated.
• Help bring our company culture to life by occasionally supporting day-to-day office and facilities coordination at our Rotterdam HQ (e.g. supplier contact, small events, and engagement initiatives).

✅ What You Bring

• 3-5 years of experience in People Operations or HR generalist roles. Ideally, in an international scale-up or a corporate environment with a strong interest in working in a scale-up context.
• A solid and versatile foundation in People operations, including Dutch labor law and common HR compliance practices.
• You’re detail-oriented and tech-savvy: you enjoy working with tools like Personio and Google Workspace, and you value clean, well-maintained HR systems.
• You’re proactive, organised, and solutions-focused. You take ownership, follow through, and communicate clearly about progress and risks.
• You have a warm and professional communication style and are trusted to handle sensitive topics with discretion.
• You’re fluent in Dutch and English — essential for this role.
• You care deeply about employee experience and bring positive energy to your work.

📍 Practical Details

• Location: Rotterdam
• Hours: 28 - 32 hours per week 
• Start date: as soon as possible
• Type of contract: 1 year with the intention to extend
