Data Analyst (CALPADS experience)

Company Description

Upwork has partnered with an Enterprise client, a nationally recognized education management (non-profit) corporation that operates accredited charter schools and programs for TAY youth and adults at 70+ locations across California. 

They are currently looking for a knowledgeable CALPADS Expert to support their team with weekly data uploads from their SIS to CALPADS, End-of-Year (EOY) reporting, and handling ad-hoc data requests as needed. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System (CALPADS) and a proven track record of effectively managing and reporting education data.

Job Description

  • Manage weekly data uploads to the CALPADS system.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of data submissions.
  • Generate and submit End-of-Year (EOY) reports in compliance with state regulations.
  • Respond to ad-hoc data requests from internal stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot data-related issues and implement solutions.
  • Additional Responsibilities if applicable:
  • Build custom reports
  • Data Visualization via Tableau

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with the CALPADS system is required.
  • Strong understanding of education data management processes and best practices.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques; specifically Excel formulas, queries, etc.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience building custom reports
  • Experience utilizing Tableau

Additional Information

  • This is an ongoing project that could lead to a long-term contract
  • Remote
  • This position is anticipated to start at 15 hours a week (between 8AM and 4PM) during Pacific time business hours, but depending on work volume, the hours could increase.
