Job Description

Reporting to the Program Leader – Counselling, the Lecturer is responsible for contributing to the delivery of the counselling higher education courses; and development, teaching and assessment of subjects in the counselling higher education courses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials and practical teaching sessions, while providing high-quality academic support to students across face-to-face and online environments.
  • Develop and maintain subject materials, assessments, marking rubrics and learning resources, ensuring alignment with curriculum, accreditation and quality standards.
  • Coordinate and support student placements, including liaising with placement providers, monitoring student progress and ensuring placement requirements are met.
  • Assess and moderate student work, identify and support students at risk, and maintain accurate records through the learning management system.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement through subject review, academic governance, compliance activities, scholarship and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification in the discipline (Master's required).
  • Demonstrated tertiary teaching experience, including curriculum and learning material development.
  • Proven ability to coordinate and successfully deliver higher education subjects.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, collaboration and communication skills with internal and external partners.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and eligibility for membership of a relevant professional association.
