Job Description
About the Role
- Sessional, Full time
We are looking for multiple Lecturers in Community Services to join our Sydney academic team.
This role would suit experienced community services professionals who are ready to share their knowledge with the next generation. You may come from case work, social work, youth work, psychology, counselling, community welfare or a related field.
You will teach into our Bachelor of Community Services, delivering practical, engaging and student-centred learning. You’ll help students connect theory with real-world practice and build the confidence they need for meaningful careers in the sector.
You’ll be involved in teaching lectures and tutorials, marking assessments, providing feedback, supporting students at risk, maintaining student records and contributing to ongoing improvement in teaching practice.
Qualifications
To be successful, you’ll need:
- A postgraduate qualification in Social Work, Community Services, Psychology, Counselling or a closely related field
- At least 2 years’ full time experience in the community services sector
- Strong understanding of community services theory and practice
- Confidence presenting, teaching or facilitating groups
- Strong communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
- A genuine interest in supporting students and developing future community services professionals
This position does not require previous teaching experience.
