Job Description

Construction Tutor
Location: Mt Wellington
Full-time | Permanent | On-Site

About the role:

Use your passion and trade expertise to inspire the next generation of construction professionals.

In this role, you’ll deliver our construction-focused programme at our purpose-built training site, complete with modern classrooms and fully equipped workshops—giving you the opportunity to bring theory to life through hands-on practice.

You’ll work with a diverse range of learners, from school leavers to career changers, guiding them through a blend of practical, skills-based training and classroom learning.

No prior teaching experience is required. We provide comprehensive training, ongoing support, and the tools you need to succeed as a tutor. You’ll deliver lessons aligned with programme requirements while also contributing to the development of our teaching resources.

Qualifications

About You: 

  • A minimum Level 4 National Certificate in Carpentry/Construction and have knowledge of current regulatory and industry requirements
  • Proven background with industry experience in construction/building.
  • Genuine interest in supporting and providing exceptional learning experience to students. 
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Ability to remain calm and patient under pressure
  • Improving and implementing simple daily processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Passion for helping people, especially in having a positive impact for youth/young adults
