Job Description

The Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Course Coordinator to lead our Bachelor of Community Services programs. This is a leadership role where you’ll shape the future of community services education, oversee academic excellence, and ensure our students graduate ready to make a difference in society.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead academic and operational delivery of Community Services programs, ensuring quality, compliance and strong student outcomes
  • Manage course operations including timetabling, assessments, enrolments, RPL and placements (where applicable)
  • Recruit, lead and performance manage academic staff, building capability aligned to current industry practice
  • Drive course development and continuous improvement, informed by sector trends and CWA expectations
  • Build and maintain industry partnerships to support placements, pathways and graduate outcomes
  • Oversee moderation, benchmarking and validation to ensure academic integrity and consistency
  • Monitor student performance, retention and satisfaction, implementing improvement strategies
  • Contribute to academic governance and reporting across key committees
  • Ensure compliance with TEQSA, AQF, CRICOS and ESOS frameworks
  • Support planning, audits, resource management and course promotion activities

Qualifications

About You

We’re looking for a dedicated academic professional who’s passionate about shaping the future of community services. You’ll bring:

  • Postgraduate qualification (Master’s or higher) in Community Services, Social Work, Human Services or a related discipline, aligned with Community Work Australia (CWA) requirements.
  • 5+ years’ experience at Course Coordinator /Associate Professor level (or similar) with demonstrated responsibility for course delivery, academic oversight and team leadership.
  • Strong higher education management background, ideally within the private sector, with a sound understanding of compliance and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of CWA, TEQSA, AQF, CRICOS and ESOS requirements
  • Proven industry engagement and ability to build partnerships
  • Experience in staff leadership and performance management
  • Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to student outcomes, quality assurance and continuous improvement
